By the end of this you will have a finished landing page, previewed and ready to publish. The build takes a few minutes. You need a project, one product to sell, and ideally either customer research in the project or an angle you can describe in a sentence.
In this article:
Step 1: Open the wizard
Select Create new on the dashboard and choose Landing pages, or select Create landing pages on the Landing pages card under Explore Atlas tools.
The modal is titled Create landing page · Listicle or Advertorial, with four steps: Select products, Select a landing page type, Upload research (Optional) and Select audience and angle.
Step 2: Choose your project and format
Pick a project, or create one. The project supplies the voice, research and styling.
Then pick the format. The wizard asks Which landing page do you want to build? and frames the choice: "Both convert ad traffic better than a PDP, so pick the format first that matches your strategy."
Format | Choose when |
| Your product needs explaining, and a story is your strongest asset |
| Your product is familiar, and distinct reasons are your strongest asset |
Each has a matching template, named in the app as Gruns advertorial and Gruns listicle. More on the choice in Advertorial or listicle: choosing a format.
You cannot continue without choosing: Pick a landing page type to continue.
Step 3: Choose the product
The wizard asks Which product is this landing page selling? and explains what happens with your answer:
The advertorial will route traffic to this product's PDP. Atlas reads its description, reviews, and price tier to pre-fill the copy style in the next step.
Search with Search for your product, and pick from the list showing Product and Price. Use Load more products for a long catalog.
States you may see:
What you see | What it means |
| Fetching your catalog |
| No active products. Add one in Shopify first. |
| Your search found nothing. Clear it and browse. |
| A temporary read failure. Retry. |
ℹ️ The product you pick is where readers go to buy. Make sure its product page is ready before you send traffic to a landing page pointing at it.
Step 4: Add research, or write your own angle
Two routes, and either works.
Upload customer research. Atlas reads it and generates the audience and angle. Files up to 20 MB, in TXT, MD, PDF, CSV or DOCX.
Write your own angle. Select Write your own angle and persona to describe the angle and persona yourself, and Atlas uses them instead of generating from research. The placeholder shows the level of detail that works:
e.g. "All-day comfort for women who work from home" — focus on softness, breathability, and how the cut moves with you.
You can do both. Research plus your own angle gives Atlas the most to work with.

⚠️ If you see Couldn't read your Shopify themes, so Build page is disabled. Refresh the page to try again., stop and refresh. Atlas needs to read your themes to publish, and the build is blocked until it can.
Step 5: Build
Select Build page. Atlas shows Writing your advertorial… or Writing your listicle… with a percentage, and names each stage as it goes: reading your product data, writing your page copy, assembling your page layout, finalising your preview.
It also explains the wait: "Atlas is blending your product data, copy guidelines, and customer research into long-form page copy."
If it takes a while you will see: "Atlas is building your landing page. Keep this window open and we'll open the preview as soon as it's ready."
💡 A landing page is long-form copy, so it takes longer than a product page. You can leave while it builds: the build runs on Atlas's servers rather than in your browser, so closing the tab does not stop it, and the finished page is saved in your Landing pages tab.
Step 6: Preview
When the build finishes, Atlas opens Preview your advertorial or Preview your listicle, with Desktop preview and Mobile preview.
Read it properly before publishing. Check the mobile view especially, since long-form copy behaves very differently on a phone.
If the copy misses the mark, you can regenerate with new instructions rather than starting again. See Previewing and regenerating a landing page.
ℹ️ You can leave the preview safely. Atlas asks you to confirm, and the page is saved either way, waiting in the Landing pages tab of your dashboard.
Step 7: Publish
Choose the theme under
Theme to import into.Select
Import & edit in Shopify, orImport.Watch for the non-live theme warning:
This theme isn't live — the page won't show on your store until this theme is published.
Atlas shows Publishing your page… while it uploads the template files, creates the theme sections, publishes the page and finalises.
Success shows Published! with "Your page is live in your theme. You can keep editing it any time from your Pages", plus View your pages and Open in Shopify theme editor.
