Why is my bundle's crossed-out price or total not what I expect?

The crossed-out price comes from your product's compare-at price in Shopify, the offer can show a total or a per-unit price, and price rounding always rounds down.

Three settings decide the prices a bundle shows. The crossed-out price comes from your product's compare-at price in Shopify, multiplied by the offer's quantity, while Use product compare-at price is on. Show individual unit price switches each offer between its total and an average price per unit. Price rounding rounds prices down to the ending you chose. All three are on the bundle's Settings tab, under Customize, in Pricing display options.

In this article:

If the crossed-out price is wrong

With Use product compare-at price on, which is the default for a new bundle, the crossed-out price is the product's compare-at price in Shopify times the offer's quantity. A product with a compare-at price of $30 shows $90 crossed out on a three-unit offer.

To change it:

  1. In your Shopify admin, open the product.

  2. Change or remove the Compare-at price on each variant.

  3. Reload the product page in a private window.

With Use product compare-at price off, the crossed-out price is the product's regular price times the quantity instead.

The crossed-out price only shows when it differs from the offer's price. To hide it completely, turn off Show compare-at price.

ℹ️ There is no crossed-out price field on the offers themselves. It always comes from the product in Shopify.

If the offer shows a per-unit price instead of a total, or the other way round

Show individual unit price shows each offer's average price per unit, such as $18 on a three-unit offer that costs $54. Turn it off to show the offer's total instead. It is off by default, and it only applies to the Vertical layout.

With the Horizontal layout, offer prices show on the cards only while Show price on card is on.

If the price ends in .99, .95 or .00

That is Price rounding. It rounds an offer's price down to the ending you chose, never up: $59.98 becomes $58.99 with Round to .99, and a crossed-out price is rounded the same way. Checkout charges the rounded price, so the page and checkout agree.

Offers using Regular Price (no discount) are not rounded. Set Price rounding to None to show exact prices.

If your theme's own price changes too

Update theme product price rewrites the price in your theme's product section to match the selected offer, so that price changes as customers click between offers. Update theme savings badge does the same for your theme's sale badge, and only works while Update theme product price is on. Turn them off if you want your theme's own price left alone.

If the checkout total differs from the page

  1. Check the cart matches the offer. Units added outside the bundle block, or a different variant, can match a different offer or none. See Why aren't my bundle discounts applying at checkout?

  2. Check rounding with unit prices. With both Price rounding and Show individual unit price on, the per-unit price on the page is rounded on its own, while checkout rounds the offer's total. The two can differ by a few cents.

  3. Check other discounts. A discount code or another app's discount can change the checkout total on top of the bundle.

If the totals still disagree, start a chat from the bubble in the bottom right of Atlas, or email support@helloatlas.io. Include the product URL, the offer you chose and a screenshot of the checkout.
