Detailed Oven Cleaning

Use this article when you have a Detailed Oven Cleaning job in the Host App. It covers what the job is about, what to bring, what you should never skip, and what to do if something is not right.

Who this is for: Hosts and Cleaning Companies with a cleaning credential.

What is this job about?

This job is a deep clean of an oven that needs more attention than a standard turnover gives it. You clean the inside of the oven, the racks, the door and its seal, the stovetop and burners, and the area under the oven drawer, so the whole oven is spotless.

Leave the rest of the kitchen as clean as you found it, since the home is usually ready for a member. See Cleaning Kitchen Appliances.

Don't skip these

Complete every task in the Host App as instructed, and upload the photos each task asks for. A job is not complete until every task is done. Pay particular attention to these:

  1. "Spot Check." After the first clean, remove small stuck-on spots with the razor blade and larger ones with degreaser and steel wool, then wipe the oven clean.

  2. The photo tasks. Upload photos of the clean oven interior, the racks, the stovetop and burners, and the area under the oven drawer.

  3. "Kitchen Clean Up." Leave the sink spotless, tidy the area you worked in, and take all the trash with you.

  4. "Lock Up." Lock the door and return the Host key to where you found it. See Getting In.

What if something is not right?

Stains will not come off after a second treatment. Take photos and let Landing know through the chat.

The oven, stovetop, or a burner is damaged or not working. Submit a maintenance request. See Making a Maintenance Request.

There is an access problem. Let Landing know, and report it in the "Access Report" task so it can be fixed for the next Host and member.
