Instant dispatch is a fast, no-hassle way to take nearby HONK jobs instantly. Our goal is to always dispatch Service Providers who are the closest to a job, based on their distance and ETA. This not only helps customers broken down on the side of the road get help faster, it benefits our Service Providers as well.

HONK's unique decentralized dispatch model allows us to help our Service Provider’s reduce the time spent driving to and from a customer's disablement location which decreases fuel costs and the wear and tear on their trucks, ultimately leading to better overall truck efficiency.

Here’s how it works

When a customer breaks down, an alert will go out to the closest providers and no one else. This is based on the distance and ETA of the providers. Shortly after the closest providers get an alert, alerts will continue going out to additional Service Providers who are farther and farther away.

Responding to a job whether you wish to take it or not, is important as the system is designed to increase the speed at which a truck is dispatched.

The HONK App

When you are in close proximity to a job - you will see a "Take It Now" button displayed in the app. By clicking "Take It Now" you agree to complete the job at the rate provided. If you are however busy or do not want to take this job you can simply turn it down with no penalty by clicking "Reject."

When you are further away from the job - you will see a "Submit Availability" button. We understand that this job requires you to drive a bit farther. In certain cases, you may be headed into the direction of the tow or have some extra downtime. We therefore are only asking if you would be available in case no closer Service Providers can take the job.

Key points to understand about Instant Dispatch:

  • Take jobs immediately without waiting for confirmation of dispatch

  • Job details are provided upfront so you know where the job is & where it's going

  • Providers who are closest to the customer received priority and are notified first

  • Further away providers can still be notified if our closer providers do not take the job, and can submit their operator's availability for instant dispatch

  • Jobs can still be declined without penalty
