To use Hormn, you must have a valid Medicare number. This is because Australian law requires electronic prescriptions to be linked to your Individual Healthcare Identifier (IHI), which is accessed via the Medicare database. Without a Medicare number, we are unable to prescribe treatment.

Who Can Apply for Medicare

You may be eligible for Medicare if you are:

  • An Australian citizen

  • A New Zealand citizen living in Australia

  • An Australian permanent resident

  • A temporary resident covered by a reciprocal healthcare agreement (e.g. from the UK, Ireland, New Zealand, Sweden, Finland, Norway, the Netherlands, Belgium, Slovenia, Italy, or Malta)

  • A person granted temporary protection, humanitarian, or refugee visas

Steps to Apply for Medicare

If you are eligible, apply via one of the following:

Online via myGov

  1. Log in or create a myGov account

  2. Link Medicare to your myGov

  3. Submit the Medicare enrolment form and required documents (e.g. passport, visa, proof of residency)

In person

  1. Download and complete the Medicare enrolment form (MS004)

  2. Bring the form and original documents to a Medicare Service Centre

After You Apply

You will receive a Medicare card and number once your application is approved. Processing usually takes 1โ€“2 weeks.

Once you have your Medicare number, return to the Hormn portal and complete your account setup. This is a mandatory requirement for treatment.
