Counts Builder

Overview

The i360 Counts Builder is an analytics dashboard in the i360 Portal. It can provide users with counts of individuals, doors, mailing addresses, phones, and election history based on specified search criteria. If you are interested in getting access to the Counts Builder, please contact your Account Manager or Support.

Navigation

The Counts Builder can be found by navigating to Menu > Analytics > Counts Builder

Search Menu

Once at the Counts Builder home page, you can select your search criteria from the menu on the left.

  1. Select your Organization
    The first drop down contains all of your available organizations that you have access to and that also have access to the Counts Builder. Select which organization you would like to create a Count for.

  2. Select your State
    Continuing with the main Search Menu, the third field allows you to select which State you would like to search in. Once you have selected a State, a new drop down will appear for you to select a Geography Type and Geography Name within that State:



  3. Select Standard Fields (optional)
    Once you have selected your desired Geography, you can select which Standard Bin Fields you would like to generate Counts for. Categories include:
    -Demographics: Age, Gender, Race, etc
    -Geography: City, County, LD, etc
    -Models: Affinity, Energy, Life, etc
    -Voter History: voted in Primary Election, General Election, etc
    -Vote Method: Select an election, and the result will Count by Did Not Vote, Voted ABEV, and Voted on Election Day.
    -Voter Contact: NCOA and Telephone Reliability
    -Voter Info: Active Status, Registered Party, etc

    NOTE: you can select multiple fields. To remove a field, click the input box and press your backspace key on your keyboard.

  4. Select Custom Bins
    Instead of using the Standard Bin Fields, you can use the Custom Bin Fields. To use the Custom Bins, you will need to create a Custom Bin. You can Create a Bin by clicking "Create/Edit Custom Bins" at the bottom of the main menu. When you create a Bin, an editor menu will pop up:



    Custom Bins are created from i360 Models. You can select which Model you want to create a Bin out of, and user the Number Drop Down do select how many Bins you would like to create from the Model. You can then use the sliders to determine what values you want to use to define each Bin. Once you are satisfied with your Bin settings, you can give it a name and click "Save". You will now be able to select this Custom Bin from the "Custom Bin Fields to count by" field on the main search menu.

    NOTE: If you create multiple bins you can select multiple of them when adding them to your search criteria. To remove a bin, click the input box and press your backspace key on your keyboard.

  5. Observations to Count By (optional)
    Observations are an add-on to the Counts Builder. Please contact your Account Manager if you are interested in adding on Observations to your Counts Builder. An observation will count by DEM GOTV, DEM Likely, Swing GOTV Tiers 1-3, and GOP GOTV Tiers 1-3. Tier 1 being most likely and Tier 3 being least likely. You can select multiple observations. The Observation is based off of i360 Model Data.

  6. Count Type
    Count type determines what will be counted. You can choose from individuals, phones, mail, doors, cell phones and voted in a specified election (limited selection). Here is an example of a search in Alaska counting by Doors and Individuals in the 2024 Universe Observation:



    NOTE: you can select multiple Count Types. To remove a Count Type, click the input box and press your backspace key on your keyboard.

  7. Custom Filters
    Custom filters allow you to create a custom filter to add to the search criteria. Selecting this option will bring you to a pop up to add any criteria to the search:


    You can select multiple criteria in each filter box. To remove criteria, you can select the input box and press your backspace key on your keyboard. Once you have selected your desired criteria, click save, and it will be applied to your Count upon clicking Submit on the main menu. If you want to remove your custom filter, click back into the editor by clicking "Add Custom Filters" on the main menu. Once in the editor, clear out any search criteria and click save.

Download Results

Once you have input your desired search criteria you can click "Submit" at the bottom of the main menu. This will generate your count. You can then click "Download Results" on the main menu to download.
