User Invitation

Invite new users by email to use Geosens projects

Introduction

This user-invitation page enables administrators to invite new users by their email address to get access to the Geosens project. Administrators can configure new user’s role and permissions of using Geosens. Different personnels can have different types of access to view / upload / manage the project data.

To get access to this page: Click on the top left corner to open the Setting side bar, click on ‘Project Security’ tab, and then click on ‘User Invitations’ sub tab to access the page.


1. Page Overview

The basic fields will be introduced for page overview in the following contents:

  • Email: The email address of all the invited users will be listed here.

  • Role: The role assigned to this user when invited will appear here.

  • Status: It will show status of ‘Accepted’ / ‘Pending’, to indicates the status of the invited person.

  • Accepted On: the dates when the user accepted this invitation will appear here.

  • Notes: Write down any notes to this user for additional information.

  • Invited By: the email address of the person who sent out the invite will appear here.

  • Invited On: the date and time when the person sent out the invite will appear here.


2. Steps on Inviting a New User

In the top section of the page, configure the settings in the following steps:

Step 1: Enter the invitee’s email address

Step 2: In the role field, click to open the drop-down list. Select one or multiple roles to be assigned to this invitee.

NOTE: The available roles and corresponding permissions in Geosens can be configured in the Setting – Project Security – Roles Permission Page. Please contact administrators for adding new roles or view Roles Permission Page manual, for further instructions.

Step 3: Click on ‘Invite’, and a email will be sent to the assigned email address.

NOTE: Please notify the invitee to accept the email, in order to get access to the Geosens with the assigned role and corresponding permissions.


3. Steps to Delete an invitation

This section provides instructions on deleting an invitation & cancelling the invitee’s access from the system.

NOTE: this deleting function is only available when the invitee hasn’t accepted the invitation – when the Status is ‘Pending’.

Step 1: Use Filtering function '' to search the email address you wish to delete. Tick to select one or multiple email addresses you wish to delete.

Step 2: Click on ‘Edit Grid’ to enable the edit mode. Click on ‘Delete’ to delete this invitation record, and this action will cancel all the access granted to this invitee.
