1. Introduction
This page is dedicated to configuring and managing alarm limit sets for instruments.
Primary function: Create and define alarm levels by setting their name, color, and code.
Purpose: Establish alarm limit sets as a foundation for future threshold configuration.
Grid display: Shows fields such as Code, Alarm Level Index Name, Color, and Action details.
Tools available: Filtering, editing, and managing alarm data efficiently.
How to access the page:
Click on left-hand corner icon 'Setting'

2. Alarm Level Sets Data Table
2.1 Field Introduction
Code: Unique identifier for the alarm level set (e.g.,
0201AAALVLS001
).Alarm Level Index: Numerical index indicating the alarm level order (e.g.,
1
).Name: Label or name of the alarm level (e.g., RED).
Color: Visual color representation of the alarm level (e.g., RED).
Project Alarm Code: Project code associated with the alarm action (e.g.,
ACTION
).Action Code: Specific action triggered when the alarm is activated (e.g.,
ACTION ALARM23
).Category: Site or region classification if necessary (e.g.,
Southern Site
).Instrument Type: Type of instrument the alarm applies to (e.g., XYZ Prisms). Leave it empty means applied to all instrument types.
2.2 Function Bar (Create, Edit, Delete, Copy)
Creating a New Alarm
Click the + New button.
A form will appear (the form fields are expected to include Code, Alarm Level Index Name, Color, and other parameters).
Fill in the required fields based on your monitoring requirements.
Save the configuration.
Editing an Existing Alarm
Tick to select an alarm entry from the grid.
Click the Edit button to open the setting panel; alternatively, click on 'Edit Grid' to enter inline editing mode and make changes directly in cells.
Modify the necessary fields such as updating the alarm code or associated color.
Save the changes to update the configuration.
Deleting or Copying an Alarm
Deleting:
Select the entry you wish to remove.
Click the Delete button.
Confirm deletion if prompted.
Copying:
Select an entry to copy.
Click the Copy button.
A duplicate entry will be created. You can then edit the fields as needed before saving.
Filtering and Customizing the View
Use the Create Filter option to narrow down the list of alarms displayed.
Additional customization may be available using the Edit Grid feature for tailoring the columns and layout.
3. How to Create a new Alarm Level Set
Click on + new at the top right corner button
Complete the fields in the pop-up dialog box.
Alarm Level Code: Define a unique identifier for the alarm level.
Alarm Level Index: For the Alarm Level Index, assign a numerical value to determine the priority. For example, if "ACTION" is assigned the highest priority (e.g., 1), it will override all other alarm levels, preventing them from being displayed.
Project Alarm Code: Specify the project-specific code associated with the alarm level.
Alarm Color: Select a colour to visually represent this alarm level on charts and reports.
Action Code: Define the action code linked to the alarm.
Action Content: Enter the message or content to be displayed in the alarm notification, if configured.
Category: Indicate if this alarm level is applicable only to a specific category.
Instrument Type: Specify if this alarm level applies exclusively to a certain instrument type.
Notes: Add any additional notes or comments as needed.
Click on 'Create' to finish creation.
