Tobe Twin — September 2026

Analytics for equipment, project-by-project sync, a simpler timeline, GIS restyle, system filters, and selective view states.

Written by Ken Panitz

This September release of Tobe Twin focuses on a clearer 4D Viewer: analytics for equipment, project-by-project sync, a simpler timeline, a restyled GIS menu, system filters, and more precise view states.

Analytics

A new Analytics tab in the Selection Inspector shows the long-term history of a selected resource. Equipment includes default metrics for run time, distance, and utilisation. Extra metrics can be configured in the aggregator.

These metrics currently apply to equipment. The people work-span aggregator is still in progress.

Tobe Projects and sync

Tobe Projects can be synced and cached one project at a time.

  • Each project has its own Download / Update and Uncache actions.

  • Selecting a project shows a summary in the inspector, including Remove Download.

  • Remove Download clears that project’s files and data from the device only. You can download them again later. Previously, updating one project could drop every downloaded project.

Timeline

The scene view has a new data toolbar across the top of the scene window. This toolbar contains all the tools related to how device data is loaded into Tobe Twin. Users can use this menu to select the timespan, time zone, and categories loaded into the scene window. This window allows users to also hide devices without data and also load devices without needing to have the timeline open if not required.

Timeline> Simple Timeline

The Device Timelines have been restyled and reworked to be more responsive and cleaner. viewer now defaults to a Simple Timeline. Expand it when you need the detailed Gantt and want to review the work spans and detailed datum items.

Data loading and time span live on the new scene toolbar, so you can change the range without opening the detailed timeline

Timeline> Full Device Timeline

The main timeline has been restyled. Events, Alerts, and Alarms stay on the timeline as toggles.

Live Mode

Live Mode polls for new device data in the background every 15 seconds without clearing the scene. Only missing time ranges and new devices are fetched. The timeline updates the rows that changed.

If you scrub back into history, you leave live mode and then can return to live by clicking the little live mode icon at the top of the screen. Timezone defaults to the project zone.

GIS menu

The GIS menu has a visual refresh: base map, global and map opacity, and map context for Buildings, Elevation, and Google 3D Tiles. Navigate Underground is always available, so the old toggle has been removed.

System filters

When data loads, Tobe Twin now creates system filters. Use them to filter by category (Data, Equipment, Material, People), spatial area, or heartbeats. System filters can be turned on or off. They cannot be edited.
