To create a project in Tobe Builder Lite the following information is required:
Project Name
Project Location (Latitude, Longitude)
Grid offset (optional - required if using georeferenced BIMs)
Tobe Builder Lite allows you to easily federate your georeferenced BIMs* at their real-world location on the globe. To do this the project location (latitude, longitude) must be converted into a grid position in your projects’ Coordinate Reference System (CRS).
This is a transformation from WGS84 (latitude, longitude) to the Coordinate Reference System (northing, easting or X,Y) your BIMs were created in.
This can be done by asking your GIS coordinator to supply the required information or by using your preferred coordinate transformation website or application to perform the required transformation.
The following example uses www.epsg.io/transform to determine the grid offset for a project located in Brisbane, Australia. The CRS for the example BIM is GDA94 BCSG02 (EPSG/WKID = 3113)
Create Geo-located Project Workflow
Step 1: Select your project location on the map (you can search for an address using the “Address” inputfield – type address and press enter to reveal options)
Step 2: Copy project location (latitude, longitude) from Tobe Builder Lite into epsg.io Input coordinates. Set the format to “dec”
Step 3: Select the output coordinate system
Step 4: Click “Transform”
Step 5: Copy (X,Y) from Output coordinates in epsg.io to (X,Y) into the grid offset fields in TobeMaps Configurator (Ctrl+V to paste)
Step 6: Click “Create Project"
*Please note geolocation is unavailable for Revit models currently. If you would like to use geolocation with Revit models, please convert the RVTs to NWC or IFC.
