What is an Work Zone
Tobe Builder allows users to place work zones into the 3D model space. Work Zones can be task-specific or global, work zones associated with a task will appear and disappear at the start and end of their assigned task, similar to resources.
They can be used to delineate specific work areas relevant to a specific task. A task can have multiple work zones associated with it, and you can also assign the same work zone to multiple tasks.
By default new work zones will be assigned to the current task, however after creation they can be un-assoicated from the task via the "Remove from task" button in the action section of the inspector.
Work zones can also be used to bulk layout resources within a defined area.
Selection & Filtering
Work Zones, like all objects in the Tobe Builder scene view, can be selected in multiple ways:
Scene Selection: If an work zone already exists, it can be selected by simply clicking on it in the scene view.
From the Inspector: The inspector has an work zone section from which you can select each work zone associated with that task.
From the Work Zone Global Menu: Work Zones can be selected by clicking on them in the work zone menu. The menu can be filtered by color, name, or date created, as well as via text search.
All work zones can also be globally hidden via the visibility menu in the top left of the scene.
Creation & Editing
When creating a new work zone, you must first select the task you wish to associate the work zone with.
Creating new work zones
Once the correct current task is selected, open the work zone window via the icon on the left-hand menu and click the "Create Work Zone" button. Then, place the work zone into the scene by clicking the placement globe onto a 3D object. The default name will be displayed, after which the title, and color can be edited for each work zone from within the inspector.
Editing and existing work zone
Work Zones can be edited at any time by selecting the work zone from the global menu or via the inspectors or scene selection and then hitting edit in the inspector to activate the work zone tool.
When editing a work zone there are two modes, in draw mode it returns the work zone tool to its initial state, where you can edit the last point of the polygon, or hit backspace to remove the last point. The work zone tool also has a edit mode that allows you to either;
a) select a face of the work zone and push/pull on that face out or in normal to the face, or
b) select the individual points that make up the base polygon, and then move, delete or add additional points to the base polygon, Each addition point will add a corresponding additional face to the work zone wall.
Associate with none, a single or multiple tasks
Work Zones by default are associated with the current task upon creation. Users can remove this association via the "remove from task' action, or they can create additional associations to other tasks by selecting each task in turn, and clicking "add to task" from the action menu of the inspector.
