Managing Tasks in the Task Drawer

The Task Drawer is your central hub for managing individual tasks within the system. This detailed guide will help you navigate and understand the Task Drawer, covering essential areas such as opening task details, using the tabs, and understanding core management functions.

Opening Task Details

To view the detailed management options for any task:

  1. Go to your Task Dashboard.

  2. Click on the background area of any task row. This action will slide open the Task Management Drawer from the right side of the screen.

This drawer provides easy access to task-specific information, including progress notes, finance details, and documents related to the task.

Tabs in the Task Management Drawer

Within the Task Drawer, there are three main tabs for managing your task:

1. Notes Tab

Use this tab to record and manage progress notes related to the care delivery. These notes help you keep track of ongoing activities.

  • Adding Notes: To add a new note, simply type your text and select any relevant tags (e.g., “Email”, "General", etc).

  • Editing and Deleting Notes: You can edit or delete notes, but only the original author can make changes to their own entries. Each note is automatically timestamped and attributed to the creator.

2. Finance Tab

The Finance Tab is where you manage all billable components of the task.

  • Adding Charges: You can add charges for different task-related costs. Select the appropriate price code (e.g., “cancellation”) and specify the quantity.

  • Viewing Costs: The system calculates the total cost based on the selected price book rate. You can view the breakdown of charges directly in this tab.

3. Documents Tab

This tab serves as a centralised location for all task-related documents.

  • Uploading Files: You can upload various task-specific files, such as evidence, reports, or care plans.

  • Viewing and Removing Files: Uploaded documents can be viewed or removed, depending on your needs.

Core Management Features

The Task Drawer is synchronised with the Task Dashboard in real-time, meaning updates made in either view will reflect across both.

Key fields you can manage include:

  • Duration: Set and update the task duration.

  • Client Selection: Choose the client associated with the task.

  • Primary Charge: Set the main charge for the task.

  • Billable: Mark items or charges as billable.

  • Completed Status: Change the task status to “Completed” when the task is finished.

Task Deletion

If you need to delete a task, this action must be done from within the Task Drawer:

  • Scroll to the bottom of the sidebar and click the “Delete Task” button.

  • Note: Deletion cannot be undone, so be sure before confirming.
