Customise Profiles with Attributes

Attributes let you decide what information is shown on a profile, and how it is grouped. When you customise a profile layout, you are configuring the Details panel for that object so your team sees the right fields.

This applies to profiles like Clients, Staff, Sites, Incidents, and Site Incidents.

Who can use it

You need permission to manage the record type you are configuring.

Client, Staff, and Site layout configuration is available on Premium.

Incident layout configuration is available to users with incident management permissions.

Where to customise profile layouts

You can customise layouts in two places.

Option 1 is through Settings. Go to Settings, open Objects, choose the object (Clients, Staff, Sites, or Incidents), then open the Configuration tab and select Configure Page.

Option 2 is directly from a profile. Open a Client, Staff member, Site, Incident, or Site Incident record. Open the three dot menu in the header, then select Configure layout. In the same menu, Manage Attributes will take you to the attribute list for that object.

How to customise the Details panel layout

When you enter layout configuration, you will see an editor for the Details panel. This is where you organise your fields.

To reorder fields, drag and drop a field to a new position. If a field cannot be moved, it is locked and will not drag.

To group fields into sections, drag a field under a section heading. You can also reorder sections by dragging the section heading.

To expand or collapse a section while you work, click the section name.

To add a new section, select Section at the top of the editor, enter a section name, then create it. Sections can be renamed later.

To add a new attribute while you are configuring the layout, select Attribute at the top of the editor. You can also add an attribute directly into a specific section by using the add field button on that section. When creating an attribute, you can choose its Section so it lands in the right place from the start.

To hide a field, open the field actions menu and choose Hide Field. Hidden fields are removed from the profile view but are not deleted.

If you need to bring fields back, use the Hidden control at the top of the editor. This lets you search hidden fields and show them again. It can also help you reveal sections that have no visible fields.

While reviewing the list, an asterisk next to a field name indicates that the attribute is required.

Saving or cancelling changes

When you are happy with the layout, select Save. This updates the profile layout for that object.

If you want to discard changes, select Cancel. This restores the layout back to how it was before you started configuring.
