How to set custom parameters for notifications in Inbox Monster

The Inbox Monster platform allows users to create their own custom notifications to be alerted when specific thresholds are met.

These notifications can be created for a wide variety of uses:

  • Inbox Placement percentages

  • Active Blocklistings

  • Spamtrap Hits

  • Reputation Changes

  • Oversight, where applicable

  • Complaint Rates

  • Gmail Delivery Errors

  • DMARC Threat Detection

๐Ÿ’ก Notifications can be delivered via Email, Slack, PagerDuty or all three!

Here's how to set them up.

Step 1. Notification Settings.

Within the Inbox Monster platform, navigate to the โš™๏ธ Gear Icon in the top right corner, then select Notification.

Within the Notification Settings page, you're presented with eight different options to Create notifications - one for each supported type.

Inbox Placement

These notifications allow you to be alerted when specific Inbox Placement percentages are met, and can be customized to apply to either a specific domain or all domains monitored within your account. They can also be customized to apply to one specific ISP, or all ISPs as desired.

Example: Any Domain inbox rate < 90% at Gmail

Blocklistings

These notifications enable you to be alerted when one or any of your monitored domains are listed on one or any blocklistings.

Example: Any IP listed on Spamhaus, alerted in Real-Time

Spamtrap Hits

These notifications enable you to be alerted when one or any of your monitored domains exceed a set threshold for a specific type of Spamtrap, as defined by your preference.

Example: inboxmonster.com hits > 0 Pristine traps, via Email and PagerDuty

Reputation

These notifications make it easy to keep track of any changes to one or any of your domain's reputation changes, whether good, medium, low, or bad.

Example: Any Domain's Reputation drops below High

Oversight

If you're an Oversight user and are interested in implementing Custom Notifications, we recommend reaching out to your Account Manager to discuss how best to leverage this feature.

Complaints

These notifications make it easy to monitor the Complaint Rates for any of your domains or IPs, via Google Postmaster Tools and Microsoft SNDS data.

Example: All Domains and IP Complaint Rate > 0.1% via Email and Slack

Gmail Delivery Errors

These notifications make it easy to be alerted when any Google Delivery Errors occur for any of your monitored domains.

Example: Any Domain has a delivery error % > 3% via Email and Slack

DMARC Threats

These notifications help you monitor Threats, or Spoofing Attempts, for any of your monitored domains.

Example: Any Domain has reached Threats > 7% via Email and Slack


Customize Your Notifications.

You have the freedom to create as many notifications as needed to best suit your program's needs, and they can be enabled/disabled at any point by clicking the green button within the Notification Settings page.

Notifications are also shared among all users for an account, but can be disabled for each individual user within Profile Settings. Profile Settings are accessible by clicking on your initials in the top right, then selecting Profile.

Individual Notifications can also be shared with non-platform users upon creation, using this element within each Notification Creation prompt:

Email Notifications will be delivered to the email address used to log in to your Inbox Monster account, and will be sent via notifications@app.inboxmonster.com.
