This article outlines the process of setting up your Rules and Pools for Oversight by Inbox Monster, as well as how to view, filter, or export your results from within the Feed view.

Oversight Overview

Oversight enables you to monitor your customer's email transmission, ensuring only authorized customers are deploying email campaigns and easily identifying and flagging when non-authorized customers are deploying email campaigns to non-members.

💡 Example Uses:

  • Unsubscribe Monitoring

Place a set of beacons in the unsubscribe database. If a rule is broken, Inbox Monster will let you know.

  • Suppression Rule Oversight

Whether it’s to adhere to government regulation or to suppress hard bounces, place a beacon in a suppression data set to get certainty. [Data theft more clear]

  • Keep tabs on your domains

Be notified of any unauthorized sending, which could point to an external breach or internal data issues.

  • Segmentation Checks

Are your unengaged rules selecting the right audiences? Inbox Monster can be your safety net.

  • Email Journey Insurance

Place a beacon in your email campaign journey to be certain that your subscribers are receiving the right content at the right time.

Step 1: Adding your Domains and IPs

Consult with your Inbox Monster Onboarding Specialist about providing your domains and IPs for use within the Inbox Monster platform.

Step 2: Assigning your Rules

Navigate to the Oversight subsection within Inbox Monster using the left hand navigation bar, then select Rules.

Click on Create to Create a Rule

Rule Name:

Add Domain then click (+) to add accepted domains

Notes: Add a note to provide additional context for your team and your own future reference.

Click Create Rule when your rule is completed. You will be able to edit the rule to add/remove domains once created, but corresponding Feed results will not update retroactively.

Step 3: Creating your Pools

Pools are a collection of Beacons used for a specific use case - up to 10 Beacons can be created within one Pool.

Click on Create to begin creating your custom Pool

Designated whether your Pool will be Unique or Catch-all depending on your use case.

You may now assign the following values as outlined in the screenshot above:

  • Pool Name

  • Beacon Count (between 1 and 10 unique addresses generated)

  • Attach Rules

  • Notes

Once you click Create Pool, the system may take a few seconds to generate your Beacons.

Click "Download" to access your beacon addresses when available.

💡 You may now send emails to the Beacons you've generated to test your Use Case. Any triggered events, based on your rules, will populate in the Feed section

Step 4: Access the Feed to Monitor your Pools

Navigate to the Feed subsection via the left side navigation pane under Oversight

The Feed view will contain the following information, pictured and outlined below:

Pool Overview

This table showcases a list of all created pools and the associated message counts to each of them.

  • Pool Name

  • Total Received

  • Total Flagged

Feed

This view showcases a list of all messages received to the pool addresses. You can filter the pool based on date or flagged messages.

  • Flag - when a domain is not authorized to mail a specific pool per rules, it will be flagged

  • Content - Download or View content mailed to your Beacon(s)

  • Date - Send Date of received content

  • Sender - Name of Sender

  • Address - Email Address of Sender

  • Subject Line - Subject line of received content

  • Pool Received - The Pool containing the Beacon which received each line item
