Requirements
To get started, ensure you have the following:
Access to the Indie Ads Manager platform
A standard dynamic ad zone (not fixed size)
Ideally, the logo scroller is the only ad that will be assigned to this zone
Sponsor logos, ideally a PNG file without background, but can also be a JPEG
For best results, use a square logo (or 1:1 aspect ratio)
Flexible Template
Our logo scroller ad template is built to be flexible. You can include a minimum of 3 logos, up to a maximum of 10 logos.
Step-by-Step Guide
Log into Indie Ads Manager and navigate to the relevant Advertiser record (or create a new Advertiser)
Click Add Campaign and select Standard Campaign
Enter a name for your Campaign and adjust the targeting & scheduling levels
Click Create Campaign
In your newly created campaign, click Add Ad Item
From the Add Ad Item window, select Native (Custom Rendering/API)
Give the ad a name (required)
Set the ad item's size to Dynamic then complete the remaining fields as needed
Select the Display: Logo Scroller (Flexible) template from the drop-down
Fill in the ad variables. These variables repeat for each logo:
Sponsor Logo: include a jpeg or png logo file, ideally all logos should have a similar aspect ratio
Sponsor Name: the sponsor name will be added as the logo image alt text, it will not display on the ad itself (optional)
Sponsor URL: include a destination URL for users who click on a logo (optional)
Repeat step 10 for each logo (minimum of 3 logos)
Click Save Ad Item
You are now ready to assign your ad to the relevant zone.
Add to Your Website
Here are some best practices for using the logo scroller:
Request a new ad zone for the logo scroller
Only assign the logo scroller ad unit to that specific zone
Place the zone on your website wherever you would like it to appear. Some recommended places include:
Your homepage
At the bottom of your articles
On your "Advertise With Us" page
Customize the headline for the logo scroller, for example "Thank You to Our Sponsor Network"
Include separators to border the logo scroller top and bottom
Read Only Code
When building your ad using a native ad template, you will see a window with the template code. This code is read-only; you cannot edit (or break) the template from the Ad Item build window.
Troubleshooting
Logos are not equally sized: This will happen if you use logos with a variety of aspect ratios because the logos are resized to fit within the template. If possible, use logos that have similar aspect ratios, whether they're 1:1 (square) or 16:10 (rectangular)
Logos are difficult to read: Try uploading a simplified logo, aim for logos with simple colors and no tagline to ensure it displays properly.
