Updated over a week ago

IndyForms offers a growing library of free-to-use templates created by our digitisation specialists. These templates are a great way to:

  • Get inspired by best-practice layouts

  • Quickly launch a form without starting from scratch

  • Customise prebuilt forms for your own organisation

Whether you’re building a form for childcare, WH&S, fundraising, or construction, there’s likely a ready-made template to get you started.

💡 Tip: Even if you don’t plan to use a template as-is, browsing templates is a great way to get layout ideas or see how others approach certain use cases.

How to Access Templates

There are two easy ways to browse templates:

1. From the Side Menu

Go to Templates from the main navigation on the left side of your screen.

2. While Designing a Form

Click Start designing a form from your dashboard, then select Browse Templates.

Finding the Right Template

Once you’re on the Templates page, you can find relevant forms by:

  • Tags – Click on a tag (e.g. Childcare, Fundraising, Allied Health) to filter templates by category.

  • Search Bar – Enter keywords related to your form type (e.g. “incident report”, “risk assessment”).

Preview and Use a Template

Click on any template to preview the form content. If it suits your needs, click Use this template to open it in the Form Editor.

From there, you can:

  • Edit fields and layout

  • Customise branding or questions

  • Publish and share the form just like any other

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q. Are the templates really free?

A. Yes! All templates in the IndyForms Templates library are completely free to use and customise.

Q. Can I edit a template after selecting it?

A. Absolutely. Once you click Use this template, it opens in the Form Builder where you can change fields, images, instructions—anything you need.

Q. Can I save my own forms as templates?

A. Yes, absolutely! Any form you create can act as a reusable template. To share it across organisations, use the My Home area and select Copy Design—this lets you easily transfer your form to other teams or clients.

Q. Can I use templates across different teams or users?

A. Yes, as long as the users are part of your organisation, you can share the customised forms with them.

Q. What tags should I use to find the right template?

A. Tags like Childcare, WH&S, Construction / Trades, and Fundraising help you filter based on industries. The search bar helps filter by keywords.

💡 Tips for Using Templates

  • Start with a template, then personalise. Templates give you a smart foundation—use the Form Builder to tweak it for your exact needs.

  • Use tags to quickly narrow down options. Click tags like NDIS or Club Sports to see relevant templates without needing to type anything.

  • Preview before committing. Open a template preview to scan the layout and content—no need to use it unless it fits.

  • Get layout ideas even if you don’t use a template. Reviewing templates can spark ideas for how to structure your own forms.
