When importing contacts into Innercrowd, you have the option to assign consent values to every contact in your import. This ensures that your database is up to date with the correct consent status from the moment your contacts are added.
This article covers the consent step specifically. For a full walkthrough of the import process, please refer to this article on how to import your contacts.
Important: Before importing contacts, make sure you have configured all your consent types, including custom consent types. This allows you to correctly assign consent during the import. Check out this article on how to Create Custom Consent Types.
Configuring Consent During Import
During the import flow, you will reach a step called Upload contacts with a toggle labelled Overwrite consents for all contacts. This toggle is turned off by default.
When the toggle is turned off, no consent values will be assigned during this import.
When the toggle is turned on, two fields appear:
Select Consent Choose the consent type you want to assign, for example, Email, WhatsApp, or a custom consent type.
Set Value Choose Subscribed or Unsubscribed.
You can add multiple consent rules by clicking + Add consent. The consent dropdown shows all available consent types, including any custom types you have created.
Note: Only use this step if all contacts in your import share the same consent status. You will need to import your subscribed contacts separately from your unsubscribed contacts.
