How to Create Custom Consent Types

How to set up additional consent types for your concepts and/or channels

Consent types define the specific permissions you collect from contacts, such as whether they agree to receive emails or WhatsApp messages. Innercrowd includes three default consent types out of the box, and you can create additional custom types to match your specific needs.

This is especially useful if you manage multiple concepts or brands within one dashboard, allowing you to collect and track consent separately for each one. This means that when someone unsubscribes from concept A, they are not automatically unsubscribed from concept B.

Step 1: Navigate to Consent Types

Go to Innercrowd Dashboard > Settings > Consent Types.

Step 2: Create a New Consent Type

Click + Create Consent in the top right corner. A pop-up will appear with two fields:

  1. Name Give the consent type a clear name that describes the permission, for example "Newsletter".

  2. Description Add a short description of what the contact is consenting to, for example "Weekly product updates and tips".

Click Create Consent to save.

Succes! Your new consent type is now available and can be selected when setting up consent mapping for your ticketing provider, landing pages, and campaigns.

Editing or Removing a Consent Type

To edit or remove a consent type, click the three dots in the Actions column next to the consent type and select Edit or Remove.

Note: Default consent types (Email, Push, and WhatsApp) can be edited but not removed. Custom consent types can be both edited and removed.
