Why Entity Management Matters
If you purchase or wholesale properties through an LLC, trust, or other registered entity, keeping your entities up to date in Investorlift ensures your account reflects how you actually operate.
This guide covers how to add a new entity, handle common errors, and safely remove an entity from your account.
β οΈ Only users with the Administrator role have access to Settings and can manage entities.
Part 1: How to Add an Entity
Follow these steps to add a new entity to your Investorlift account:
Navigate to Settings in your account.
Click on My Entities to view all existing entities linked to your account.
Click Add New Entity to begin the setup process.
βEnter the State where the entity is located and the Entity Name. If the entity is found in the system, a dropdown will appear - select the correct name. If not found, continue to the next step.
βIf the entity is not found automatically, click "Add one manually."
βEnter the entity's phone number and address. Make sure to select the address from the dropdown so it is recognized by the system.
βClick Save to finalize the addition.
β
Handling the "Name Already Taken" Error
If you see the error "The name formatted has already been taken," it means an entity with that exact name already exists in the system.
To resolve this, slightly modify the entity name by adding or removing punctuation:
Test LLC. β change to Test LLC
Test LLC β change to Test LLC,
This small adjustment allows the system to recognize it as a unique entry and proceed.
Part 2: How to Remove an Entity
Before removing an entity, make sure all contracts linked to that entity have been removed from the platform. Skipping this step may prevent deletion.
β οΈ Remove all linked contracts from your properties before proceeding with entity deletion.
Once that's done, follow these steps:
Navigate to Settings in your account.
Click on My Entities to see all entities linked to your account.
Locate the entity you want to remove.
Click the (β) symbol next to the entity name.
βA confirmation pop-up will appear. Click Confirm to complete the removal.
β
Your entities are now up to date. Keeping them accurate ensures your account reflects how you operate and prevents issues when submitting offers. If you have any questions, our support team is here to help.
