Payroll Settings: Configuring Base Information

Set up the necessary information to manage your payroll.

Updated over a month ago

To use the payroll management features in Ation, you must first configure your settings. Please follow the steps below.

1. Navigate to Payroll Management

Go to the Payroll Management page by clicking the menu:

Workers > Payroll Management

2. Go to the Settings Page

Click on Payroll Settings to enter the configuration screen.

3. Set Hourly Wages

Enter the hourly rate for your workers. You can apply the same rate to all workers at once or set different rates for each individual worker.

4. Set Payment Method & Payday

Choose between "Weekly" or "Monthly" payments. You can then specify the exact payday based on the selected cycle.

5. Break Time Settings

Configure the system to automatically deduct break times from the total time (from clock-in to clock-out).

  • Break Trigger: The threshold of total hours worked that triggers a deduction.

  • Break Duration: The amount of time to be deducted as a break.

Example: If a worker clocks in at 8:00 AM and out at 5:00 PM, the total time is 9 hours. If you provide a 1-hour break, set the Trigger to 9 hours and the Deduction to 1 hour.

  • Result: 8 hours of paid work, 1 hour of unpaid break.

If you do not provide break times, simply select "Disable" and click Save.

6. Overtime Rule Settings

You can set overtime rules based on "Daily" or "Weekly" limits. To set overtime pay, define the threshold hours and set the multiplier (how many times the base pay) for the extra hours.

  • If you do not use daily or weekly overtime, toggle the button to "Disable."

⚠️ Note: According to local labor laws, if you are not required to pay both daily and weekly overtime separately, please enable only one. (If both are enabled, both daily and weekly overtime will be reflected in the pay calculation simultaneously).

7. Time Rounding Rules

When setting overtime rules, you must choose a "Rounding" standard for working hours. Once you set a Split Point, the system will round the clock-in or clock-out times accordingly.

Rounding Examples:

1) 5-Minute Increments (Rounding to the Nearest 5 Minutes)

  • Split Point: 2 minutes 30 seconds

  • 0–2 mins: Rounded down to 0 mins

  • 3–4 mins: Rounded up to 5 mins

  • Example: 9:02 → 9:00 / 9:03 → 9:05

2) 10-Minute Increments (Rounding to the Nearest 10 Minutes)

  • Split Point: 5 minutes

  • 0–4 mins: Rounded down to 0 mins

  • 5–9 mins: Rounded up to 10 mins

  • Example: 9:04 → 9:00 / 9:05 → 9:10

3) 15-Minute Increments (Rounding to the Nearest 15 Minutes)

  • Split Point: 7 minutes 30 seconds

  • 0–7 mins: Rounded down to 0 mins

  • 8–14 mins: Rounded up to 15 mins

  • Example: 9:07 → 9:00 / 9:08 → 9:15

Once all settings are saved, you can view the calculated payroll status in the Overview tab.
