As a facilitator, you can create a Pulse for any course you’re facilitating.

There are three different Pulse types that you can choose from, depending on what suits your question best!

How to create a Pulse

1. Go to the Class console for the class you wish to set the pulse for.

2. Select Add on the Pulses tile then confirm by selecting Create new pulse.

3. From here you’ll need to:

  • Name the pulse

  • Choose the pulse Type

  • Set your question/s and available options

  • Then select Save to move on setting the duration.

Note: Pulses are reusable, so the Name lets you find the Pulse again. Keep in mind when naming that Pulse names are visible to learners.

How to set Pulse duration

You can run Pulses at any time and for any length of time by selecting how long you’d like it to Run for – minutes, hours or days. Once you've set your duration select Run pulse to finish.

How learners are notified

Once live, learners are notified of the Pulse and how long it will be available for. They can then go and answer it if they wish.

Note: Only learners in the class activation when the Pulse goes live will be able to answer. If a learner is added after the Pulse goes live, they can see responses but can’t answer.

How to view the Pulse results

Facilitators and learners can view Pulse results in the course Overview (found in the left menu).

Note: Learners can see a graph of the Pulse's responses, without identifying how an individual learner responded.

How to download Pulse responses

Facilitators can select Export pulses to download Pulse results to see individual responses from the Class console.
