How account owners can add LTI tools at an organisational level

As an account owner you can preset LTI tools at an organisational level for authors and facilitators to use.

In the Account Settings area of iQualify, account owners can can preset LTI tools for authors and facilitators to use in courses and offerings.

Why should account owners preset LTI tools?

Presetting LTI tools will make it easier for authors and facilitators to embed the LTI tools your organisation uses. This means authors and facilitators won't need the secret and consumer key when they're creating and teaching their courses.

How to pre-set LTI tools

  1. Navigate to your avatar and select it, then from the available items select iQualify Settings.

  2. On the left hand side of the page you will see menu options, from here select Integrations.

  3. Along the top of the page you will see three tabs available to select, click LTI:

4. All authors will have the option to add the LTI tool to a course when they are in Create mode. If you would also like to give facilitators the option to add an LTI tool to the offerings they are facilitating, ensure this toggle is set to ON:

5. When you are ready to add an LTI tool select the ADD button:

This will open a modal for you to enter in the LTI tools information, including the name of the LTI Provider (this is what will display to the authors and facilitators when they are adding LTI tools), the Consumer Key and Secret. Some LTI tools will require you to enter in a Consumer Key and Secret, these pieces of information will be given to you directly by the LTI tool provider.

Enter the information and select SAVE:

6. The last step to give facilitators full access to add LTI tools via a page in the offering or via the menu items, is to click on custom tabs under feature settings in the iQualify settings area:

Click the toggle to ON and click UPDATE:

How to turn the LTI tool off

If you wish to turn the LTI tool off, you can do so by returning to that LTI tool and switching the toggle to OFF. If you turn the LTI tool off this means it will no longer be available to be added to future courses or offerings, however any existing courses in Create and any current offerings that have that LTI tool enabled will continue to have that LTI tool available.

After you make any changes to any fields in this area, always make sure to click the UPDATE button on the bottom of the page.

Important note: iQualify supports LTI 1.0 Basic, it's important to check that the tool that you are embedding also fully supports the standard.
