Use two devices during your live
What you'll learn
This guide shows how to use a second device during your live. One device broadcasts the video. The other becomes a remote control, with the products, the chat, and the sales tools. That way you don't have to do everything on one screen and you stay focused on the camera. The second device can be another phone or your computer, through the Seller Hub.
Before you start
You'll need:
An approved seller account on Jamble
Two devices with the same Jamble account: two phones with the app, or a phone and a computer with the Seller Hub
A stable connection on both devices
How it works
When you open the same live on a second device, the app asks what you want to do with it: use it as a remote control or broadcast from it instead.
Only one device broadcasts video at a time. The other one stays as a remote control: its camera is off, but you keep watching the live and using the controls.
Step by step on your phone
Step 1: start the live on your main device
Start the live as usual on the phone that will be your camera.
Step 2: open the same live on the second phone
On the second phone, open the app with the same account and join the same live. A choice shows:
On iPhone, the Controle remoto (Remote control) card shows:
Use como um controle remoto (Use as a remote): this phone becomes the live's remote, with the camera off
Transmissão ao vivo a partir deste dispositivo (Livestream from this device): the broadcast moves to this phone
On Android, the Outro dispositivo está transmitindo (Another device is broadcasting) notice shows:
Ficar como controle remoto (Stay as remote control): this phone becomes the live's remote
Assumir transmissão (Take over): the broadcast moves to this phone
Step 3: use the remote
On the remote, you see the live and have the same controls as the live screen:
Read and answer the chat without looking away from the camera
Pin products and organize the queue
Start and follow sales
Use the live menu
On iPhone, a remote control button shows at the top right. Tap it to leave remote mode on this phone.
On Android, to leave, open the live menu and tap Fechar Live (Close live). The live stays on air on the broadcasting device.
Step 4: move the broadcast to the other device (optional)
To move the camera to the other device, choose Transmissão ao vivo a partir deste dispositivo (Livestream from this device; on Android, Assumir transmissão, Take over) on the device that will broadcast. The video switches devices right away and the previous one becomes the remote.
This helps when your main phone's battery is running low or when you want to change the camera angle.
Use your computer as a remote
You can also control the live from your computer, in the Seller Hub. Open your live's page in the browser while your phone broadcasts: the computer stays as a remote, with products, sales, and chat on a bigger screen. If you want, the computer can also take over the broadcast.
See how to access and use the Seller Hub in Seller Hub: sell from your computer.
If the main device drops
If the broadcasting device loses its connection (battery, app closed, bad internet), the remote shows the Aguarde (Hold on) notice with the sentence Seu dispositivo principal parece estar off-line (Your main device seems offline).
You can wait for the main device to come back or move the broadcast to the remote and keep the live going. If no one broadcasts for a long time, the live may end automatically.
Practical tips
Use the best camera to broadcast. The main device should have the best camera and the most stable connection
Keep the remote close. On a table or stand next to you, so you can reach the chat and products
Use the same account on both. To bring another person into your broadcast, use Live Duo
Switch devices if the battery runs out. Instead of stopping the live, move the broadcast to the other device
Frequently asked questions
Can I connect more than two devices? You can open the live on more than one device, but only one broadcasts video at a time. The others work as remotes.
Do viewers notice I'm using two devices? No. They only see the video from the device that is broadcasting.
Does closing the remote end the live? No. The live keeps going on the broadcasting device. To end the live, use Encerrar Live (End live) in the menu.
Is this the same as Live Duo? No. Two devices is one person using two devices. Live Duo puts another person in your broadcast. See Invite a co-host (Live Duo).
