Want to support an important cause? This guide explains, step by step, how to donate on the site: choose an amount, fill in your details, pick a payment method and complete the payment. We cover every payment method: Credit Card, Bit, Google Pay / Apple Pay, Digital Wallet, Wire Transfer or Check, and GiveCard.
A donation has 3 steps: "Select Amount" → "Personal details" (where you also choose the payment method) → "Payment details".
Step 1: Setting Up the Donation
Click the "Donate" button on the campaign page. The donation window opens.
Type & Currency: Select the currency and choose "One time" or "Recurring donation" (monthly). Some campaigns accept one-time donations only.
Amount: Choose one of the suggested amounts or type your own.
Comment (optional): Want to leave a warm message? Tick "Write a comment" (on some pages: "Leave a comment") and type it. On a campaign page, the comment appears in the "Recent donations" tab.
Dedication (optional, some charities only): Turn on "Dedicate This Donation" to dedicate the donation in honor or in memory of someone. Fill in the dedicatee's name, the recipient's email and a personal message.
Privacy: Under "What should be shown on the profile/project page that you are supporting?" choose what appears in the donor list: "Name and donation amount", "Name only" or "Donation amount only".
Click "Continue" to move on to your personal details and payment method. Some pages also show an "Add to Cart" button, for donating to several campaigns in one payment.
Step 2: Personal Details and Payment Method
Fill in your email (the receipt is sent there), first name, last name and phone number. The ID number for the receipt is optional. Logged in? Some details are already filled in.
On the same screen, below your details, is the "Payment method" list. You can pick a method only after you fill in the required fields above it. The options depend on the charity and the amount.
Choose a payment method, tick the box that confirms you read the terms of use and the privacy policy, and click "Continue".
Step 3: Payment Details and Completing the Donation
What happens after "Continue" depends on the payment method you chose:
💳 1. Credit Card
On the "Payment details" screen, enter the card number, expiry date, security code (CCV) and Israeli ID / passport number, then click "Finish".
📱 2. Bit
Bit has no "Payment details" screen: select "Bit" in the list, tick the terms box and click "Continue".
On a computer: A QR code appears. Scan it with your phone and approve the payment in the Bit app.
On a phone: You go straight to the Bit payment. Approve it in the app.
Note: The donation is complete only when you reach the "Thank You" page on the site.
Recurring donations are not available with Bit.
🏦 3. Wire Transfer or Check
("Wire Transfer" and "Check" appear only for donations of 499 ILS or more).
Select "Wire Transfer" or "Check" in the list and click "Continue". On the "Payment details" screen, click "Finish".
At the end you see on screen, and also receive by email:
The bank account details / the details for mailing the check.
A reference code, for example WT261015000123.
Very Important: For a wire transfer, write the reference code in the transfer's remarks field. For a check, email info@jgive.com with the reference code and write it in the letter you send. This is how we match the money to your donation.
🎁 4. GiveCard
Do you have a donation voucher?
Select "GiveCard" in the list and click "Continue".
The "Payment details" screen shows your balance. If you have not added the code yet, click "Activate GiveCard".
Enter the GiveCard code, click "Claim" and then "Finish".
📲 5. Google Pay / Apple Pay and Digital Wallet
Some charities let you pay without typing card details. There are two cases:
Google Pay / Apple Pay: The list shows a "Google Pay" row (or "Apple Pay" on Apple devices) below Bit. Select it. A Google Pay / Apple Pay button replaces "Continue". Click it and approve the payment on your device. This option is for one-time donations in ILS.
"Digital wallet": For charities whose payments are processed through Grow, the list shows a "Digital wallet" row with the logos of the available wallets (Bit, Google Pay, Apple Pay, PayBox). Select it, click "Continue" and approve the payment in the wallet you chose.
Note: PayBox is available only for charities whose payments are processed through Grow.
