Getting started: Preparing for your first JikoNet transfer

This essential checklist will help you validate the end-to-end workflow and ensure your team is familiar with the system's operational requirements.

Sending a JikoNet transfer

Checkpoint

Description

1. Recipient configuration

First, check that you received Jiko’s account details directly from the beneficiary of the transfer to initiate (independently from Jiko). Account details include:

  • Legal business name of the beneficiary.

  • Jiko Network Address of its destination Jiko pocket (example: “123456789012”).

  • The beneficiary will find this information under “Transfers > Receive money > Jiko network details” in the user interface of the Jiko application.

Then, check that you configured the corresponding recipient profile in Jiko, using menu “Recipients”, ensuring both the Legal business name and the receiving pocket’s Jiko Network address are accurate.

2. Sending pocket configuration

Check that the sending pocket displays the green JikoNet icon below, confirming that the pocket is connected to the JikoNet network:

A pocket that is not JikoNet-enabled is represented with a purple icon:

If JikoNet is not enabled, please contact us for assistance.

3. Transfer Submission rights

Check that the initiating user is assigned a role authorized for payment submission: either a Maker role or an Admin role.

User roles are displayed and managed in menu “Team”.

4. Transfer Approval rights

All submitted transfers are subject to a mandatory approval step. Ensure that at least one user is assigned a role authorized for payment approval: either a Checker role or an Admin role.

5. Pocket funding

Check that the sending pocket is funded.

6. Penny test

Make a “penny test”: a low-value transfer (example: $1), to test end-to-end and ensure your team is familiar with the system's operational requirements. With:

  • The submission of the transfer request by a first user.

  • The review and approval of the transfer request by another user.

JikoNet transfers are created in Transfers > JikoNet transfer. For multiple "penny tests," we recommend using a unique amount (e.g., $1.1, $1.2, etc.) and/or assigning a distinct payment reference via the Description field to easily differentiate the transfers.

JikoNet transfers are then displayed:

  • In Bank Transactions, in tab Completed once executed, or in tab Requested if pending approval.

  • Identified with transaction type On-Us.

  • And with a description such as "On-Us Transfer from <payer name> to <payee name>”.

2. Payment instructions

Check that you transmitted your Jiko account details to the payment issuer, so that the issuer can add you to its list of JikoNet recipients. Information to provide:

  • Legal business name of your entity.

  • Jiko Network Address of your destination Jiko pocket (example: “123456789012”).

  • Note: you will find this information under Transfers > Receive money > Jiko network details in the user interface of the Jiko application.

3. Penny test

Invite your counterparty to make a “penny test”: a low-value transfer (example: $1), to test end-to-end and ensure its team and yours are familiar with the system's operational requirements. Which includes the submission of a JikoNet transfer by a first user of your counterparty and the approval by a distinct user.

Received JikoNet transfers are displayed:

  • In Bank Transactions.

  • Identified with transaction type On-Us.

  • With a description such as “On-Us Transfer from <payer name> to <payee name>”.
