Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT)

Updated today

What is TRT?

Testosterone is a hormone that plays a key role in your energy, mood, muscle mass, metabolism, bone strength, and sexual health. Levels naturally decline with age, but some men experience a more significant drop — a condition called hypogonadism — that can meaningfully affect day-to-day quality of life.

Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) is designed to restore your testosterone to a healthy range and relieve symptoms like:

  • Persistent fatigue or low energy

  • Loss of muscle mass or strength

  • Weight gain or a slower metabolism

  • Reduced sex drive or erectile dysfunction

  • Mood changes, irritability, or depression

Treatment Options

We offer several forms of TRT. Your provider will recommend the option best suited to your health history and preferences.

Testosterone Cypionate (Injection)

A self-administered injection that delivers steady testosterone levels over time. This is one of the most established forms of TRT and is closely monitored by your care team.

Testosterone (Oral Capsule)

A daily oral capsule — a convenient option if you prefer not to self-inject. It supports testosterone balance and symptom relief in a straightforward, pill-based format.

Enclomiphene

An oral medication that works differently from traditional TRT — instead of adding testosterone directly, it stimulates your body to produce more of its own. This can be a good fit for patients who want to preserve natural hormone function.

Anastrozole (Estrogen Blocker)

Some patients on testosterone therapy experience an increase in estrogen levels, which can cause unwanted side effects. Anastrozole helps keep estrogen in a healthy range. This medication is automatically included in your subscription if clinically appropriate — there's no additional cost.

Labs & Testing

TRT requires regular lab work to make sure your treatment is safe and working well. Here's what to expect:

  • Before your first prescription: Labs must be completed before your provider can prescribe.

  • Before your first refill: Labs are required again after your first month.

  • Ongoing: After that, labs are required every 3 months (quarterly).

Where to get labs done: Labs must be completed at a Labcorp or Quest location using the requisition form we provide. We're unable to accept results from outside labs.

Important: Your refill cannot be released until your lab results have been reviewed by your provider. Please plan ahead and complete your labs before your medication runs out.

Unlike some other programs where labs are optional, TRT requires ongoing lab monitoring with no exceptions. This is for your safety and to ensure your treatment stays effective.

Prescriptions & Refills

  • A provider consultation is required for your initial prescription and for every refill.

  • Medication is dispensed monthly, even if you're on a multi-month plan. You'll receive one month's supply at a time.

What's Not Included

  • Coaching sessions are not part of the TRT subscription. Your patient portal may display certain tasks (like intake forms, lab orders, or consult scheduling) — these are standard portal features and don't indicate coaching is available.

  • TRT for transgender men is not available through this program. Gender-affirming hormone therapy requires ongoing, specialized, in-person care. We encourage patients seeking this type of treatment to connect with a qualified provider who specializes in gender-affirming care.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to get labs every time I refill? Yes. Labs are required before your first refill and then every 3 months after that. Refills cannot be sent until your provider has reviewed your results.

Can I use labs from my regular doctor? No — labs must be completed at Labcorp or Quest using the requisition form we send you. Outside lab results cannot be accepted.

Why am I receiving Anastrozole? I didn't ask for it. Anastrozole is an estrogen blocker that may be included in your prescription if your provider determines it's appropriate for you. It's a standard part of TRT protocols for many patients and is included in your subscription at no additional cost.

Is coaching included with TRT? No. Coaching sessions are not part of the TRT subscription plan.
