What are the different outputs that show there is no data and how are they defined?
“No Data” means that either:
Data points have been opted in, but there are no entries for them
For calculated metrics, inputs for the calculation that have been opted in are either partially entered, or have no entries
For calculated metrics, if both the metrics used to complete this calculation have an input of '0' no calculation can be made
Example:
“Calculated metric X is showing “No Data” in reports because it is missing 3 out of 5 separate inputs it needs to get calculated”
"Calculated metric X is showing "No Data" because it used metric Y with a value of '0' divided by metric Z with a value of '0'. Logically, 0 divided by 0 equals 'undefined' which equals 'no data'.
“N/A” means that either:
In breakdown by entity, the entity is unassigned of a data point/metric and therefore the data point/metric is not applicable to it
In a monthly/quarterly breakdown, an annually entered data point can't be broken down by month/quarter
Example:
“Full time equivalent (FTE) is entered on an annual basis, therefore in the monthly breakdown report, N/A will be displayed for every month, but a value will be displayed for yearly total”
“The London Office entity unassigned from Natural Gas for 2023, therefore data Natural GAs displays “N/A” for this entity”
“Opted Out” means that:
An entity or org has been assigned a data point, but chose to opt out of it
Example:
“The Birmingham Office entity opted out of the biodiversity data point, therefore reports show “Opted out” for this data point for this entity”
“The London Office entity unassigned from Natural Gas for 2023, therefore data Natural GAs displays “N/A” for this entity”
