What is Ask KEY?
Chasing portfolio company data, checking who's submitted, and figuring out which targets are slipping usually means digging through reports or pinging your team. Ask KEY skips that. It's an in-app AI assistant that answers questions about your entire portfolio in plain language and tells you what needs your attention next, no exports, no external tool, no setup.
It runs on the same technology that powers our external MCP connector for tools like Claude or ChatGPT, so you get the same depth of insight, but with no external AI tool, login, or setup required.

We're building the ability to generate dashboards and charts directly from Ask KEY. Instead of just reading an answer, you'll be able to ask for a visual, a chart, a breakdown of target status, and have it built for you on the spot, ready to view, save, or drop into a report. No need to export data and build the chart yourself elsewhere.

Ask KEY is available directly within the platform for organisations with AI Capabilities enabled. If you don't see it, contact your platform admin or support@keyesg.com

How do I use it?
Click Ask KEY in the menu
Type your question into the box at the top (in your own words, no special format needed) and hit send, or click one of the suggested prompts underneath the box to try it instantly.
Watch the answer appear on screen as it's written, so you don't need to wait for a blank page to fill.
If a table appears in the answer, you can copy it straight into Excel or Google Sheets using the copy button next to it.
After you get an answer, more suggested follow-up questions appear. Click one to keep digging, or type your own.
Every question and answer is saved automatically. Come back later and you'll see your recent conversations listed on the page. Click one to pick up where you left off, or start a brand-new chat any time.

Keeping your data safe
Ask KEY runs inside KEY ESG's own private infrastructure, hosted on AWS, with all AI processing kept within the EU. Your data is never sent to or used to train third-party AI models. Ask KEY only ever reads your live, verified platform data; it cannot create, edit, or delete records, upload files, or change anything in your account. As with any AI assistant, we'd recommend reviewing important answers before relying on them for external reporting, disclosures, or decisions.
