What is Ask KEY?
Most teams don't just want to know what their ESG data says, they want to know what to do about it. Ask KEY is an in-app AI assistant that goes beyond reporting back your numbers: it surfaces insights and recommendations, flagging the targets at risk, the gaps to close, and the areas to focus on next, in plain language, right inside the KEY ESG platform.
It runs on the same technology that powers our external MCP connector for tools like Claude or ChatGPT, so you get the same depth of insight, but with no external AI tool, login, or setup required.
How to access it
Ask KEY is available directly within the platform for organisations with AI Capabilities enabled. If you don't see it, contact your platform admin or support@keyesg.com

Get insights and recommendations, not just data
Ask KEY doesn't stop at telling you what's in your platform today. Ask it what's at risk, what needs attention, or where to focus next, and it will draw on your live, verified ESG data to give you a recommendation, not just a readout.
Ask questions about your data
Query your metrics, entities, and targets conversationally and get real-time, accurate answers grounded in your live KEY ESG data.
Review your chat history
Previous conversations are saved so you can pick up where you left off and revisit past answers.

How do I use it?
Click Ask KEY in the menu
Type your question into the box at the top (in your own words, no special format needed) and hit send, or click one of the suggested prompts underneath the box to try it instantly.
Watch the answer appear on screen as it's written, so you don't need to wait for a blank page to fill.
If a table appears in the answer, you can copy it straight into Excel or Google Sheets using the copy button next to it.
After you get an answer, more suggested follow-up questions appear. Click one to keep digging, or type your own.
Every question and answer is saved automatically. Come back later and you'll see your recent conversations listed on the page. Click one to pick up where you left off, or start a brand-new chat any time.
Example questions you can ask
If you're a Fund Manager:
"Which of my portfolio companies haven't submitted data yet?"
"Which targets across my funds are at risk of missing their deadline?"
"Break down our Scope 1 and 2 emissions by portfolio company"

If you're a Standalone Company or Portfolio Company:

You don't have to use these exact words. Just ask naturally, the way you'd ask a colleague.
Keeping your data safe
Ask KEY runs inside KEY ESG's own private infrastructure, hosted on AWS, with all AI processing kept within the EU. Your data is never sent to or used to train third-party AI models. Ask KEY only ever reads your live, verified platform data; it cannot create, edit, or delete records, upload files, or change anything in your account. As with any AI assistant, we'd recommend reviewing important answers before relying on them for external reporting, disclosures, or decisions.
