Below is an overview of how to bulk data upload to the KEY ESG platform using excel. If you would like to watch a video version of this overview, check out our tutorial here:
The KEY ESG platform allows you to bulk upload data using excel sheets. This helps managers and users across your organization seamlessly upload lots of information at once, saving time.
On the left-hand panel, click on “Collect Data”
Once you know what data point you want to add in bulk, click that datapoint.
For example, Let’s use Scope 1, Natural Gas.
If you are collecting data across multiple sites and/or time periods, you have 2 options: bulk upload data across multiple sites or time periods at once or bulk upload data for 1 individual site.
For data upload across multiple sites or time periods click the “Bulk Upload Button”.
You will then be asked to choose between the different methods available under the GHG Protocol. The methods listed are relevant for that data point.
In this particular instance, those are fuel based, supplier specific method, and direct entry.
If you clicked on a different metric, like Travel for instance, you’d also see distance based since that is relevant for travel emissions.
Choose the method which you have data for.
Then, follow the steps provided:
Step 1: Download the spreadsheet template
Step 2: Enter your data into the template using the options provided
Step 3: Upload your file. If the platform does not recognize all your column headers exactly, you will be prompted to do some manual matching.
Note: if you have a spreadsheet from your systems in a similar format you can upload and attempt to match the columns and rows here.
For bulk upload for 1 individual site or time period, click the Import Button and follow the same steps
After submission, the uploaded Excel file will be added to this datapoint under “Attachments”.
