In order to launch a referral program on Kickbooster:
- Your crowdfunding campaign must be on Kickstarter or Indiegogo.
- You need to have your Kickstarter or Indiegogo campaign URL.
Setting up your Referral Program
We've made the setup and launch of your referral program extremely easy! Once you have your campaign URL, you can start setting up your referral program by following the steps below:
1.) Head to kickbooster.me/register and select 'Campaign Owner'
2.) Select 'Referral Marketing'
3.) Select which platform your campaign is running on (Kickstarter or Indiegogo)
4.) Insert your Crowdfunding Page URL
This is where you can edit your campaign's private name (The campaign name you will see in Kickbooster) and also your campaign's public name (The campaign name that subscribers will see).
The campaign name provided upon sign up will automatically be the default private and public campaign name.
Choose your Booster signup page URL
Your Booster signup page will be assigned a Kickbooster subdomain. You can personalize your subdomain until you choose to activate your referral program. Valid characters include letters, numbers and '-'.
Connect Kickbooster to your Google Analytics
Google Analytics is how Kickbooster tracks when successful referrals are made to your campaign. Kickbooster needs to connect to the Google Analytics tracking code you have placed on your campaign page.
Invite Kickbooster to be a collaborator on your campaign
In order for Kickbooster to validate pledges and protect you from paying commissions on failed or cancelled pledges, you will need to add email@example.com to your Campaign Team.
If you would like to communicate with your Affiliates, they will need to opt in to communication with you so you can receive their contact information.
Set Your Reward
This is the percentage you're willing to offer Affiliates for successful pledges made through their unique referral link. While keeping budget in mind, be sure to choose an enticing reward to remain competitive with other campaigns listed on the Marketplace. You can always increase the reward throughout the campaign.
In this section, you are able to choose how you'd like to handle self-referrals made to your campaign. You can either choose to allow or automatically reject any potential self-referrals. Check out this article for more information on self-referrals and how you can manage them when running your referral program.
7.) Design your Booster Signup Page
When inviting others to participate in your referral program, you can direct them to your Booster Signup Page so they can register to become an Affiliate.
Choose a theme layout
Choose one of our beautiful themes to fit your needs, whether you want the messaging to be short and sweet, or if you need more space to showcase your product.
Images and Message
Upload a primary image of your product. A secondary image is optional and will only display on certain themes.
- For best display results, upload an image size of
1440px x 500px.
- Kickbooster will use your primary image for any promotional purposes I.e. our Marketplace, Newsletter, and Social Media platforms.
In regards your message, Kickbooster provides default text for you to use to ensure what you are offering to potential Affiliate's is clearly explained. You can add/remove/change any details you want to be visible on your Booster Signup page.
If you have a media kit and/or a promotional video for your campaign, there is a field where you can add a URL to either or both. We highly recommend adding these so it is easily accessible for your Affiliates should they need any assets when promoting your campaign.
When designing your Booster signup page, you can preview your page at anytime by scrolling down and clicking on 'Preview Page'.
Once you’re happy with the design of your Booster signup page, it’s time to make your referral campaign live.
9.) Start spreading the word!
Once your referral campaign is live, it's time to start inviting people to participate. Click here for tips on getting the word out.
10.) Tap into an existing network of affiliates
Kickbooster allows you to add your referral program to our Marketplace, making it visible to our growing network of affiliates. You can add your campaign to our Marketplace by going to your Share settings.
