How to Share Students
Updated over a week ago

Overview

If you need a supervisor to review your lesson plans and student data, or if you work with a paraprofessional or assistant who needs to act on your behalf, Kit allows you to add them as a guest to your account for FREE! Once added, you can share specific students with them and control the level of access they have to your students' information.

Step 1: Add a Guest to Your Account

To share students with a supervisor, assistant, or paraprofessional, you must first add them as a guest to your account. Follow these steps to add a guest:

  1. Navigate to Your Account Page: On the left-hand side, click on the account icon or your initials in the bottom left corner to go to 'My Account.'

  2. Select 'Manage Guests': This option will allow you to manage and add guests to your account.

  3. Invite a Guest: Enter the email address of your supervisor, assistant, or paraprofessional and assign them a role (supervisor, assistant, or paraprofessional).

After adding the guest(s), they will receive an email invitation to join your account. However, you can begin sharing students with them immediately, even if they have not yet accepted the invitation.

You can also remove a guest from your account by clicking on the trashcan icon.

Step 2: Share Students with Your Guest

Once a guest has been added to your account, you can share students from your caseload with them. To share students, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Caseload Page: Navigate to the Caseload page to view all of your students.

  2. Select Students to Share: Check the boxes next to the students you want to share with your guest.

  3. Click the Share Icon: Once students are selected, click on the Share icon in the toolbar at the top of the page.

  4. Choose Your Guest: From the dropdown menu, select the guest with whom you want to share the selected students.

  5. Set Access Level: Choose the appropriate access level for the guest:

    • Full Access: Allows guests to view student profiles, view and edit instructional events related to the student, take student data, and view and edit Medicaid billing reports.

    • View Only: Allows guests to view student profiles, view instructional events related to shared students, and view Medicaid billing reports.

    • No Access: Removes the guest's access to view the student.

Now your guest can view your student in their Caseload page, including their goals, objectives, and progress graphs in their student profile!

Managing Guest Access

You can manage and update guest access levels at any time by revisiting the Caseload page and adjusting the access settings for each student in the 'Shared With' column. This flexibility allows you to control who sees what, ensuring that all data is shared securely and appropriately.
