What types of questions are in the Kognity textbooks?

We know you're always looking for effective ways to support your students, and a strong question bank is key! Each Kognity textbook is packed with hundreds of questions designed to help students at every stage of their learning journey.

Here is a breakdown of the different types of questions your students will find on the platform:

Reflection Questions: Found at the end of each lesson. These are open-ended questions designed to spark critical thinking, and the answers cannot be edited once submitted by the student.

Knowledge Checks & Section Questions: Found throughout the reading content and at the end of sections. These are perfect for checking basic comprehension and making sure students have grasped core concepts before moving on. They must be answered correctly to be marked as ‘Completed’.

Quiz Questions: Targeted exercises designed to test students' comprehension of different concepts.

Exam-Style Questions: To help prepare students for actual examinations, we've included questions that mirror the format and difficulty of typical exams. Great for practice and building confidence!

Strength Questions: Located under the "Practice" tab. These challenge students to think deeper, connect ideas within a topic, and apply their learning on a module level.

Students are asked 3 questions and have 60 seconds to answer each. This is a great way to practice answering questions under a time limit—just like on real exams!
