I forgot my password, what can I do?

You can reset or change your password at any time using the Kontist app on your smartphone or the WebApp on your computer.

Important: Please complete the process entirely on your smartphone or only via the WebApp. Switching between devices may lead to issues.

In the Kontist App (Smartphone)

  1. Make sure you're using the correct email address – the one you used to register your Kontist account

  2. Open the app – below the password field, tap on “Forgot password”

  3. Follow the link – you’ll receive an email with the next steps to reset your password

  4. Didn’t receive the email?

    • Check your spam folder

    • Wait at least 30 minutes before requesting a new email

    • If you’ve requested multiple emails: Only use the link from the most recent one

In the Kontist WebApp (PC)

  1. Enter your email address and click “Forgot password?”

  2. Make sure you’re using the correct email address

  3. You’ll receive an email with further instructions

  4. Confirmation is done via TAN sent to your smartphone

Password Requirements & Security

  • Your new password must be at least 8 characters long

  • It must include at least 1 letter and 1 number

If you enter your password incorrectly five times in a row, your account will be temporarily locked for 1 hour for security reasons. After that, you’ll be able to log in again as usual.
