My Apple Watch runs are not imported to the Kotcha app, what should I do?

Written by Ben Dupont

Here are the main reasons why import from Apple Watch to Kotcha can fail:

  1. Your iPhone or Apple Watch are running older OS versions which are not supported.

  2. Your Apple Watch has been disconnected from the Kotcha app.

  3. The Kotcha app has been disconnected from your Apple Watch app.

  4. Your runs have been imported, but you need to manually link them.

1️⃣ Minimum Requirements

  • iOS 17.2 or greater with watchOS 10.7 or greater ⚠️

  • iOS 26 with watchOS 26

2️⃣ Check your Apple Watch is connected to Kotcha

Follow those steps to check and restore your pairing with your Apple Watch:

  1. Open the Kotcha app, and go to the Me tab and go to the Connected Apps & Devices section.

  2. Start by checking if Sync with Apple Watch has a green checkmark.

    1. If it shows a green checkmark (like screen #8 below), it means that pairing is valid.

    2. If it doesn't show anything, or it shows a red cross mark, click on Sync with Apple Watch.

  3. Tap on both toggle buttons to grant access to export workouts to your Apple Watch, and connect with Apple Health.

  4. Allow Kotcha to add workouts to Apple Watch.

  5. Turn On All categories from Apple Health.

  6. Validate by clicking on Allow.

  7. Check the confirmation screen.

  8. You should now see the green checkmark.

3️⃣ Check Kotcha is connected from your Apple Watch app

To check that Kotcha has not been disconnected from the Apple Watch app:

  1. Open your Apple Watch mobile app on your iPhone.

  2. Go to Workout.

  3. Go to Connected Apps (scroll all the way down).

  4. Check that Kotcha is listed and enabled.

4️⃣ How to force export your workouts to your Garmin watch?

When Kotcha is successfully paired with your Apple Watch, you can force the export of your training calendar as follow:

  1. Open the Kotcha app, go to the Home view, and tap on the calendar icon of your current week of training.

  2. Save the schedule of your current week of training. This will automatically export or update your workouts to your Apple Watch.
