How to Edit and Delete Tasks

If you ever need to change an assigned task, you have both an edit and delete option.

NOTE: Agents cannot delete tasks created and assigned to them by their Admins - only edit the task details.

How to Edit a Task

There are 2 areas where you can edit an assigned task.

  1. From the btPRO Dashboard

  2. From a Lead Profile

From the Dashboard

To edit a task from the Dashboard:

  1. Log in to btPRO.

  2. Click on 'Tasks'.

  3. Click into your desired task to edit by clicking on the pencil icon to the right of the title.

  4. This will open task details where you can edit the title, details, date, and/or time.

  5. When ready, click 'Save Task' to save your changes.

From a Lead Profile

To edit a task from the Dashboard:

  1. Log in to btPRO.

  2. Click on 'Smart CRM'.

  3. Search for the desired lead related to the task you wish to edit.

  4. Click on the lead once located to open the profile.

  5. Click on Tasks.

  6. Click into your desired task to edit.

  7. Click on the pencil icon to the right of the title to make changes.

  8. This will open task details where you can edit the title, details, date, and/or time.

  9. When ready, click 'Save Task' to save your changes.

How to Delete a Task

There are 2 locations where you can delete a task:

  1. From the btPRO Dashboard

    1. Individually or in bulk

  2. From a Lead Profile

From the Dashboard - Individually

To delete a task from the Dashboard:

  1. Log in to btPRO.

  2. Click on 'Tasks'.

  3. Either click on the 'X' of the desired task to be deleted.

    OR

  4. Click on the task title to open the details specifically and click 'Delete'.

From the Dashboard - In Bulk

To delete tasks in bulk from the Dashboard:

  1. Log in to btPRO.

  2. Click on 'Tasks'.

  3. Select the desired tasks to be deleted by clicking the checkboxes.

  4. Click 'Mass Delete'.

From a Lead Profile

To delete a task from a lead profile:

  1. Log in to btPRO.

  2. Click on 'Smart CRM'.

  3. Search for the desired lead related to the task you wish to delete.

  4. Click on the lead once located to open the profile.

  5. Click on Tasks.

  6. Click into your desired task to delete.

  7. Click on the pencil icon to the right of the title.

  8. This will open task details.

  9. If you're sure, click 'Delete' to remove the task.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  1. Can I restore a task if I accidentally deleted it?

    1. No, deleting tasks cannot be undone - it is a permanent action.

  2. If I delete a task, will its history still show in the related leads timeline?

    1. No, deleted tasks will be completely removed from the applicable lead record(s) and there will be no system note in the Timeline indicating a task was removed.

  3. If I deleted a task that was automatically created via Smart Campaign, will it remove the task action from the campaign altogether?

    1. No, deleting an individual task this way will not remove it from a Smart Campaign. In order to remove a task reminder from a Smart Campaign, you must delete that Task action from the campaign itself.

  4. I had an automated task past due, but now it's gone and I didn't delete it. What happened?

    1. Automatic tasks created from a Smart Campaign, are automatically deleted 7 days past the due date. Manually created tasks, however, will remain in your tasks list until you complete or delete them.
