Overview of Lead Data Validation

Learn how lead data can be automatically validated within btPRO.

When new leads are added to the Smart CRM, btPRO will automatically attempt to validate the contact data added. This is so you know what information checked out and what could not be verified.

What Lead Information is Validated

btPRO's data validation tool will check leads:

  • First and Last Name

  • Email Address

  • Phone Number

How Information is Validated

The system will cross-reference the leads' contact information against thousands of online sources, to confirm whether or not an email or phone number is real.

The data validation will also automatically correct small errors in emails and other information in the profile.

For example, if an email is entered as 'yahoo.cim' instead of yahoo.com, validation will auto-correct the typo.

Where Validation Information Lives

You can determine what information was validated within a lead profile. See the guide below in relation to the lead profile image to learn more:

  1. Ribbon Icon: The ribbon icon indicates if validation was run.

    1. Grey - Validation not yet run.

    2. Green - Validation has been run.

  2. Shield Icon - Phone Number: This icon indicates the result of the validation.

    1. Grey Shield with Line Across - Validation not run or not validated.

    2. Green Shield with Checkmark - Information validated.

  3. Shield Icon - Email: This icon indicates the result of the validation.

    1. Grey Shield with Line Across - Validation not run or not validated.

    2. Green Shield with Checkmark - Information validated.

  4. 'Validation Run' Timeline Note: This note is the validation summary. It includes any additional information that was found while cross-referencing the contact information provided. It will display things like: social media profiles, gender, age, etc.

  5. Side Panel Contact Validation Information: Here, the validated information will display, along with the date validation was last run.

How to Manually Validate a Contact

In the event btPRO is not able to validate a leads information, you can manually run validation. Additionally, if you add or change contact information, you can re-run validation manually to check the new data.

To manually run lead validation:

  1. Log in to btPRO.

  2. Click on 'Smart CRM'.

  3. Search for the desired lead and open the lead profile.

  4. Click on the ribbon icon on the upper left.

  5. Review validation information in the timeline.
