What is a related condition? 💙

A related condition is when one health issue is medically linked to another.

Sometimes one illness can lead to complications or secondary problems. When that happens, we usually treat them as one condition, because they’re connected.

For example:

  • Diabetes can lead to cataracts

  • Allergies can cause recurring skin infections

  • An ear infection can develop into ongoing ear problems

What does that mean for your claim?

If your pet develops a condition that’s linked to something they’re already being treated for:

  • It’s usually handled as part of the same condition

  • You normally won’t pay a new excess again in the same policy year

  • The costs count towards the same condition limit
