A bilateral condition is something that can affect both sides of your petās body.
Think knees, hips, ears or eyes ā they come in pairs.
If the same problem happens on both sides, itās usually treated as one condition, not two separate ones.
What does that mean for you?
Letās say your dog injures their left knee. Later on, they injure the right one too.
Because itās the same type of injury affecting both knees, we treat it as one bilateral condition.
In most cases:
Youāll only pay one excess per condition, per policy year
Your co-payment (if your policy includes one) still applies
All treatment counts towards the same cover limit
