What do I need for a third party liability claim?

If someone brings a claim against you or your dog (being a pet covered under the policy) arising from an incident happening during the policy year (e.g. if your dog caused an injury to someone or damaged their property), we will cover the amounts you have to pay as compensation, together with legal costs, as detailed below:

Up to £2 million per policy year with an excesss of £250 per incident.

  • Costs of lawyers we appoint to defend you if legal action is taken against you.

  • Settlement amounts or awarded damages if legal action against you is successful, including any claimant’s lawyer’s costs.

  • Compensation and/or claimant’s expenses (e.g. vet fees, medical fees, repair costs, lawyer’s costs).

To make the process smooth, it’s helpful to have:

  • Details of the incident (what happened, when, and where)

  • Contact information of anyone involved

  • Any evidence (photos, witness statements, or vet reports if relevant)

  • Your policy details

You can submit the claim through the Lassie app or email us with the information, and our team will guide you step by step.

This ensures your claim is handled quickly and correctly, so you can focus on your pet instead of paperwork.
