If you or an immediate family member has to go into hospital unexpectedly, your policy covers reasonable emergency boarding costs for your pet so you can focus on getting better.
Bronze ā up to Ā£500
Silver ā up to Ā£1,500
Gold ā up to Ā£3,000
Alternatively, we will pay Ā£30 per day towards the cost of someone looking after your pet. There is no excess or co-payment on this cover.
It applies in the following situations:
You or an immediate family member are ill or injured and need to go into hospital for two or more consecutive days
A hospital stay is extended because of complications from routine treatment, or pregnancy complications affecting you or your partner
You are still unable to care for your pet once discharged, for up to seven days
To make a claim, we will need a letter from the NHS or the hospital confirming the admission dates, an invoice from the boarding establishment (or written confirmation from the person looking after your pet, including dates and costs), and confirmation from a doctor if boarding is needed after discharge.
Please note we cannot cover costs if the person looking after your pet lives with you or is a member of your family, if the hospital stay is for a cosmetic procedure, or if you already knew you would need to be hospitalised when your cover started. š¾
