Overview
This troubleshooting article is for Canadian customers using the Verifone P400 PINpad with Moneris.
Issue: Payment Terminal Error
If you're unable to run any transactions and the LaundroPortal is displaying a "Payment Terminal Error" in the VAC Status;
if this is a New Installation;
and you haven't run any transactions before, confirm the PINpad terminal is connected to the VAC kiosk according to the Configuring the Verifone P400 & Ingenico IPP320 terminals (Canada) article.
Everything is listed in the above article, but as a summary, you will be checking to ensure that:
the PINpad terminal is connected to the VAC's AUX1 ethernet port
you've setup the PINpad terminal's Static IP address settings
you've entered you Merchant ID and ECR ID into the VAC settings
you've ran an initialize PINpad commands from the VAC commands menu.
if this is an Existing installation;
and the PINpad terminal was working correctly before but all of a sudden you're seeing a Payment Terminal Message, first try power cycling the VAC kiosk to see if rebooting the terminal clears the error.
If the error is still present, check the VAC control board's AUX1 port to ensure that the AUX1 port's Link Lights are lighting up when the PINpad terminal is connected to it:If the Link Lights are OFF, try moving the main internet ethernet cable (which is plugged into the VAC's "LAN" port) into the AUX1 port to see if that triggers the AUX1 port's Link Lights to light up. If the Link Lights light up with the main internet ethernet cable, but not the PINpad terminal's ethernet cable; then there is an issue with the PINpad terminal itself; contact Moneris support to help troubleshooting the PINpad terminal issue.
If the Link Lights are lighting up, confirm all configuration settings of the terminal are still correct by following the configuration instructions in our Configuring the Verifone P400 & Ingenico IPP320 terminals (Canada) article. If all configuration settings are correct, contact Moneris support for help troubleshooting this PInpad terminal issue.
Issue: Transaction is aborted, result code is 205 or 105
If you see 205 or 105 in the VAC Log, first double check to ensure that you have correctly entered the Merchant ID and ECR ID parameters in the VAC control board settings.
If these are correct, then the next step is to contact Moneris. This might be a configuration issue with the PINpad. The support center contact for Moneris is 1-866-319-7450. You'll need want to have your Merchant ID handy before calling Moneris support.
