We’re excited to say that we're now working with Klarna, the market leader in 'buy now, pay later' services, to help organisers in the UK. 2 million transactions are made daily on Klarna, while a recent survey of their users showed 30% only completed their purchase because Klarna's financing option was available.

With cost of living on the rise, we're now providing you with another way to attract, convert & retain participants.

How does it work?

We've added two new payment options to LDT through Klarna:

  • Pay 30 days later: Complete the payment in full after purchase at no added cost

  • Pay in 3 instalments: Spread the cost of purchase into 3 interest-free instalments. The first payment is made at point of purchase, with remaining instalments scheduled automatically every 30 days.

⚠️ Note: Klarna payment options are, by default, switched off on all LDT event pages. If you'd like to get them enabled for your events, contact your Partner Success Manager.

How does it work for participants?

With the exception of the final payment screen, the user experience on events with Klarna switched on is just the same as usual. Once participants reach this screen, they'll see the following:

After selecting Klarna, submitting their email and full name, they'll then be redirected to Klarna where they can choose their payment option and complete the purchase.

Once they've made the purchase, Klarna build a relationship with the participant, to take the funds directly from them - so you don't have to worry about following up on payments.

Fees

There is an extra Stripe fee for organisers on bookings that are made using Klarna:

  • Pay 30 days later: ~2.9% fee

  • Pay in instalments: ~4.9% fee

Enabling Klarna for your events

If you're interested in taking advantage of our new Klarna integration on LDT, or would like to find out more, get in touch with your Partner Success Manager, and they'll be able to help you out.

FAQs

Do I have to wait longer to receive my funds from Klarna bookings?

There's no extra delay for funds to reach you if you choose to enable Klarna for your events. Klarna pays the ticket price in full, and we send it to you as normal via Stripe, the same as you would if the participant had paid normally using a credit/debit card.

Is there a max ticket amount for paying in instalments?

Yes - there is an upper limit for instalments of £1k. If this limit is exceeded, participants will only be able to use the 'pay 30 days later' (but not the instalments) option with Klarna,

Can ticket purchases with charity donations use Klarna as a payment option?

No - charity donations cannot be included as part of a Klarna payment. If a donation is added by the participant, the option to pay with Klarna is removed. .
