How does it work?

Offering this new feature to your participants is simple. Refund Protection simply sits as an add-on in the registration flow of your event (just before the final Payment step). Here, participants are able to see how much adding Refund Protection to their registration will cost them, as well as see the scenarios (listed in full here) in which they’ll be able to claim a refund if needed.

Cost

In terms of cost to the participant, Refund Protection pricing is determined by Protect Group on a case by case basis. It is influenced by a range of factors, including time until event, location, sport, age and distance to event.

The average cost of Refund Protection for participants is around 10%. Some participants will pay more and some will pay less - as pricing is calculated dynamically, we can't guarantee this will always be the case, but you should expect that on average participants will pay something between 9-15% of their total basket price.

Fulfilment

Once they purchase the add-on, participants receive additional confirmation of this in their registration confirmation email, including the details they’ll need should they have to apply for a refund. This information is also available in their LDT account, where applicable.

In the event of this, you won’t need to lift a finger. Protect Group liaise with the participant directly to process the refund (providing they're able to submit evidence for their claim, in accordance with the terms and conditions they accept when they select Refund Protection).

Complete applications are refunded in fewer than four hours on average.

No - enabling this on your events is completely free as a Let's Do This partner organiser - in fact, a share of the revenue when a participant purchases this feature.
