How to Manage Your Weekly Schedule

Updated this week

TL;DR: Use the Weekly Schedule to view your upcoming lessons, organize your family's adventures, and move activities around with simple drag-and-drop.

Managing a busy homeschool household is a big balancing act. The Weekly Schedule in LearnSpark is designed to be as flexible as your family. Whether you are worldschooling on the road or following a routine at home, this view helps you see the big picture of your week.

πŸ’‘ Good to know: LearnSpark does not use fixed "teaching hours." You decide when your day starts and ends, giving you total freedom over your routine.

Accessing Your Weekly View

To see your plan, you can click Schedule in the sidebar or go to your Dashboard and select the Weekly Schedule view. LearnSpark shows you the current week by default. Here, you will see all the Lessons, Projects, and Adventures you have planned for your students.

You can use the student filters at the top of the page to switch between views. You can look at one student's plan or see everyone's schedule at once. This makes it easy to see where Pods or joint lessons overlap, helping you coordinate your group learning!

Moving Lessons with Drag-and-Drop

Life happens! If a sunny day calls for an unexpected trip to the park, you can move your formal learning easily. Managing your schedule is as simple as clicking and holding a lesson block, then dragging it to a different day.

  • Rescheduling: Drag a lesson from Tuesday to Thursday if you need more time to prepare.

  • Flexibility: You can move any scheduled item to better fit your family's rhythm.

  • No pressure: Pick up exactly where you left off by moving unfinished tasks to tomorrow.

⚠️ Heads up: Moving a lesson does not delete it! It just changes when it appears on your daily checklist and schedule.

Building Your Week

Your LearnSpark experience is most powerful when you plan ahead. You do not have to leave the schedule view to add more learning. You can click on any day on the calendar to start adding activities.

  1. Plan an Adventure: Schedule short-listed Adventures or local trips.

  2. Schedule Lessons: Bring in lessons generated by SparkAI to fill gaps in your week.

  3. Add Project Milestones: Keep your long-term Projects moving forward by scheduling specific steps.

As you finish these activities and provide feedback, SparkAI uses that information to update your child's Mastery Profile. Using the schedule helps keep your LearnSpark experience organized. Great job!

Frequently Asked Questions

Does moving a lesson use SparkAI credits?

No. Moving or dragging existing lessons on your calendar does not use any credits. SparkAI credits are only used when you generate new content or when the system updates a student's progress.

How do I remove a lesson from my schedule?

Click on the lesson block to open the details. If you remove it from the schedule, its status will return to "generated" in your lesson list so you can schedule it for another time later.

What happens if I miss a scheduled lesson?

The lesson will stay on the day it was assigned until you move it or complete the feedback form. LearnSpark will not penalize you for taking a break or changing your plans!

Can I set specific start and end times for my school day?

There are no "Teaching Hours" settings in LearnSpark. We believe homeschooling should be flexible! You decide which day a lesson happens, but the exact time is up to you.

Do Adventures on my schedule update based on my location?

Yes! If you have planned an Adventure, SparkAI uses the location and destination details from your settings to help provide the activity plan and packing list.
