TL;DR: LearnSpark helps you meet homeschooling rules by matching your lessons to local standards and creating professional PDF reports for attendance and progress.
Homeschooling rules change depending on where you live or travel. Whether you are teaching from home or worldschooling across the globe, staying organized is the best way to feel confident. LearnSpark makes this easy by building regional requirements into your SparkAI planning tools!
Setting Your Location
The first step to making sure your plan matches local rules is telling LearnSpark where you are. SparkAI uses your location to understand things like required subjects or specific ways you need to report progress to make your LearnSpark experience even better.
💡 Good to know: If you are planning a trip, you can update your destination in your settings so future lessons match the rules of your next stop.
Go to Settings and select Profile or General Settings.
Find the Travel & Location section.
Update your Country and Region.
Click Save. Now, your lesson suggestions will reflect your local area!
Matching Lessons to Standards
Once your location and student profiles are set, SparkAI helps you connect your teaching to official requirements. It’s like having a personal assistant who knows the local curriculum!
Student Curriculums: Ensure each student profile has the correct curriculum type (like UK National, US Common Core, or Montessori) selected.
Standards Progress: As you finish lessons and provide feedback, the Performance tab shows your Operating Level vs Expected Level in each subject.
Gap Analysis: Use Custom Curriculums to see if there are any specific local topics you haven't covered yet.
💡 Find your curriculum: You can find Custom Curriculums by going to Settings and clicking the Custom Curriculums card.
Creating Compliance Reports
Forget the end-of-year scramble for paperwork! LearnSpark organizes your data into clean, professional reports that you can hand over to local authorities. You've done the hard work of teaching; let the platform handle the filing.
Go to the Performance area.
Select the dates you need to report on.
Choose the report type, such as Attendance or Portfolio.
Click the Download PDF button to get a file you can save or print.
Staying Compliant While Traveling
If you use the Adventures page while worldschooling, you can turn trips into learning milestones. When scheduling a day trip, check the is_learning_day box. This ensures the activity counts toward your educational goals and shows up in your progress reports!
⚠️ Heads up: Laws can change. We always recommend checking your local government’s official website to stay 100% up to date with their latest requirements.
