What are Custom Curriculums?
Every student usually follows a standard set of goals based on their country and grade. However, many families use specific books or programs like Singapore Math or Montessori guides.
With Custom Curriculums, you can upload these guides as PDF files. Once uploaded, SparkAI will look at your specific materials to decide what to teach next.
This means your LearnSpark experience is built around the exact books you already have at home. It replaces the default national standards with your own chosen path.
💡 Good to know: This helps SparkAI learn the exact order and depth of topics you want your child to cover.
How to Set It Up
On desktop, click Settings in the sidebar. On mobile, open the menu and tap Settings.
Find and tap the Custom Curriculums card.
Click to create a new curriculum and give it a name, like "Third Grade Science."
Upload your PDF files, such as a syllabus or a table of contents.
Wait a moment while SparkAI reads the files to understand the teaching plan.
Go to your Student Profile and select the new curriculum to attach it to that student.

Great job! Now, when you generate new lessons for that student, the system will follow your uploaded guide.
When to Use This Feature
You are using a specific published curriculum or textbook.
You belong to a homeschool co-op that has its own list of topics.
Your local requirements are different from the standard ones in the app.
⚠️ Heads up: Changing a curriculum only affects future lessons. It won't change lessons you have already created and saved.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use more than one curriculum for a student?
Yes! You can assign multiple curriculums to a single student if you are mixing different subjects. SparkAI will look across all of them to plan your lessons.
Does this change the "theme" of my lessons?
No. Custom Curriculums only change what is taught. If you want to change the fun themes (like space or animals), update your child’s Interests in their profile.
What if my PDF file is too big to upload?
If your file is very large, try splitting it into smaller parts. You can upload multiple files into the same curriculum folder.
Will SparkAI still use my child's interests?
Yes! Even when following a custom guide, SparkAI will still include your child's favorite topics. It also adjusts the difficulty to match their skills.
