At Learned, we help organisations conduct 'The Great Conversation'. An important part of this is evaluating role profile skills during the year. This is possible with the Conversations module in Learned. Here are the most important things to keep in mind.

Build and select your template

The first step in creating the conversation is to select a conversation template. In our other articles we will discuss in detail the preparation of these templates with the option to evaluate on role profile skills. When creating the conversation, you simply have to choose the correct template in the dropdown.

Tip: adjust the name that is loaded from the template for each conversation with, for example, 'Q3 2022' after it. This way you can easily recognize the specific conversation in the platform.

Check the participants

In the next step you can add the participants. For each chosen participant, you will see whether a role profile with skills is linked to their account. If a participant does not have a role profile, or has a role profile without skills, you will receive an error message. It is important to temporarily save the review as a draft so that you can set these settings correctly for each participant. Only when each participant has a role profile with skills do you publish the review. Please note: changes to role profiles and skills will not be reflected in an ongoing conversation.

Note: It is possible to click on the names of role profiles to disable them from the particular conversation. The corresponding skills will not be a part of the conversation form of the employee.

Role profile skills in practice

After publishing the conversation, the employees can get to work. When filling in the conversation form a standard question is shown followed by a list of skills.

  • How did you perform on the most relevant skills and competencies for the role <name role>?

The following information is available for each skill:

  • The skill category of the skill

  • The definition + the focus areas per skill level

  • The expected skill level

By clicking the mouse over the different levels you can see the focus areas per skill level. You click on a level and use the text field to substantiate your choice. If the option is set that the coach/peers must also evaluate the role profile skills, this works for them in the same way. All reviews are ultimately visible in the review report.
