[New] How to manage contract version using the Add-in

Updated over 2 weeks ago

This article explains the features of the new LegalOn. For information on the current version’s product features, please refer to this page.

How versions work with the Add-in

When you open a Word file and upload it via the LegalOn Add-in, the file is uploaded to LegalOn and appears in both the web and Add-in versions under your [Contracts] list.

  • In the Add-in, you can add new versions of a contract.

  • To view or edit the version list, use the web version.

Add a new version

1) Add a Pre-review contract as the latest version

  1. Open your contract file (“.docx” format) in Word, then click [Home] → [LegalOn Add-in].

    Troubleshooting:
If the Add-in icon is greyed out and cannot be clicked, please check your installation or contact support.

  2. Click [Search] under “Add as Latest Version Below”.
If you have previously uploaded a version of this contract, it will be suggested here.

  3. Use the filters to search for the contract.
After entering filter terms, search results will appear automatically. Click [×] to close the filter screen if needed.

  4. Click the contract you want to link to. Click the [∨] to expand and check file details.

  5. Select the contract status and click [Review]. The contract will be added as the latest version.

2) Add a Post-review contract as the latest version

  1. After completing your contract review, open [Upload contract] from the global menu.

  2. Confirm that the contract you just reviewed is listed under “Add as the latest version of the file Below.”

  3. Select the contract status and click [Upload]. A message “View the uploaded contract in your browser” will appear, and the contract will be added as the latest version.

💡 Info

To view the uploaded contract or version list in your browser, click [Preview]. The web version will open to the file detail page.
